POLA BELAJAR DAN BERLATIH SISWA SMA NEGERI OLAHRAGA JAWA TIMUR

The balance between learning and practising activities is undoubtedly for students of special sports schools (SKO). Education that emphasizes the provision of the future and training to achieve high achievements sport must be managed properly and correctly. This study aims to illustrate how the pattern of learning and practising students of sports-specific schools. The subjects of this study were students at the East Java Sports State High School, a total of 54 students. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and T-tests. Indicators of study habits include learning frequency, learning intensity, learning duration, and obstacles in learning, while indicators of practice habits are the frequency of training, the intensity of training, the duration of practice, and obstacles in practising. The results showed that the proportion of student activity was dominated by practice activities instead learning activities, with a t value of 9.89, at p< 001. This research shows that academic activities do not receive adequate attention tudents. Discussion activities that hone thinking skills are rarely carried out. The main obstacles for students in the learning process are fatigue factors and a less supportive environment. This research recommends the need for personal supervision by the family, especially parents, by utilizing technology, and students need to get special assistance in the academic field to support their understanding of learning materials so that students can grow and excel optimally both in academic and non-academic fieldsKeywords: patterns of study and practising; sports schools; use of time
