Penerapan strategi pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan strategi pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE), hasil belajar siswa, dan respon siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experiment dengan rancangan penelitian One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian untuk keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menunjukkan kriteria sangat baik. Analisis N-Gain untuk hasil belajar aspek pengetahuan siswa dengan kriteria tinggi sebesar 34% dan untuk kriteria sedang sebesar 66%. Pada aspek keterampilan, seluruh siswa dinyatakan tuntas dengan kriteria sangat baik. Siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap proses pembelajaran dengan strategi Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) yaitu sebesar 92%.

This research is about implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) strategy on the matter of convex and concave mirror to improve student learning results. This research aims to describe the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) strategy, the increasing of student’s learning result, and student’s responses. The kind of this research is a Pre-Experiment using research design namely One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The objects of this research are the students of class VII-B in SMPN 59 Surabaya. The result shows that the learning process using Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) strategy is very good. The N-Gain test analysis obtained the criteria of high indeks 34% and criteria for medium indeks 66%. On pshycomotor resut all students have predicate exhaustive. The students gave positive responses for the learning process using Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) strategy as 92%.
