FORMALISTIC ANALYSIS ON SI DOEL FILM POSTER

Abstrak

Poster film “Si Doel” dalam perkembangannya selain mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, poster film “Si Doel” juga mengikuti pendewasaan tokohnya. Diawali dengan film “Si Doel anak Betawi” (1972), “Si Doel the movie” (2018), “Si Doel the Movie 2” (2019) dan yang terakhir “Akhir Kisah Cinta Si Doel” (2020). Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimana sudut pandang tinjauan formalistik dari poster film “Si Doel”?. Selanjutnya, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan sudut pandang tinjauan formalisitik pada poster film “Si Doel”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil pembahasan dari penelitian ini adalah dalam sudut pandang tinjauan formalistik, menjelaskan mengenai elemen layout dan prinsip layout. Prinsip-prinsip desain layout,  berupa sequence, emphasis, unity dan balance. Elemen layoutnya yaitu elemen teks dan elemen visual. Terdapat pula unsur desain yang menonjol adalah pada tipografi dan warna. Temuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu perbedaan poster film “Si Doel” dari tahun 1972 hingga tahun 2020. Dari keempat poster film tersebut terdapat perbedaan dalam segi elemen layout, prinsip layout, tipografi dan warna.

Abstract

Movie posters "Si Doel" in its development in addition to following the development of technology, the film poster "Si Doel" also follows the maturity of the characters. Beginning with the film "Si Doel Betawi children" (1972), "Si Doel the movie" (2018), "Si Doel the Movie 2" (2019) and finally "End of the Love Story of Do Doel" (2020). The formulation of the problem in this research is what is the perspective of the formalistic review of the "Si Doel" movie poster ?. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to describe the point of view of a formalistic review on the "Si Doel" movie poster. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The results of the discussion of this research are in the perspective of a formalistic review, explaining the layout elements and layout principles. Layout design principles, in the form of sequence, emphasis, unity and balance. The layout elements are text and visual elements. There are also design elements that stand out are the typography and color. The findings in this study are the differences in the movie poster "Si Doel" from 1972 to 2020. From the four film posters there are differences in terms of layout elements, layout principles, typography and color.
