Gypsum media potensial dalam seni rupa karena ringan, mudah dibentuk, dan ramah lingkungan. Seni lukis lebih banyak diterapkan pada kanvas atau kertas, padahal gypsum dapat menjadi alternatif. Hasil pengamatan, siswa menyukai praktik seni rupa.
Penelitian ini mengkombinasikan seni lukis dengan gypsum untuk pengalaman artistik yang lebih variatif. Tujuan 1.) Mengetahui bagaimana proses eksplorasi seni lukis pada media gypsum. 2.) Mengidentifikasi hasil eksplorasi seni lukis pada media 3.) Mengetahui respons siswa terhadap eksplorasi seni lukis pada media gypsum.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mereduksi, mengelompokkan, dan menyajikan informasi secara deskriptif. Proses dan hasil pembelajaran seni rupa dua dan tiga dimensi dengan kriya gypsum di SMA Negeri 1 Krembung dilaksanakan pada Maret–April 2024. Subjeknya adalah siswa kelas XI-1.
Proses eksplorasi melalui empat tahap eksplorasi: penyampaian materi, pembuatan gypsum, proses melukis, dan penilaian. Siswa berkelompok menyiapkan gypsum, air, cetakan, wadah, cat, dan kuas.
Hasil eksplorasi menunjukkan 36 siswa yang baik dalam kegiatan yang dilakukan. Meskipun demikian, terdapat 12 siswa mengalami kendala berupa retak atau pecah pada karyanya. Keberhasilan dalam proses pencetakan ditunjukkan oleh 24 siswa, sementara 34 siswa telah memahami konsep komposisi dengan baik. Selain itu, 25 siswa menghasilkan karya lukis yang indah.
Respon siswa dari kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa 95% siswa tertarik dengan proyek karya gypsum. Sebanyak 97% siswa merasa mudah dalam melaksanakan proyek tersebut. Selain itu, 93% siswa mengungkapkan adanya tantangan tersendiri dalam proses pengerjaan. Sebanyak 94% siswa menyatakan kepuasan terhadap hasil karya mereka. Seluruh siswa merasa mampu memahami teknik moulding dan seni lukis yang diajarkan.
Gypsum is a potential medium in fine arts because it is lightweight, easy to shape, and environmentally friendly. Painting is more commonly applied to canvas or paper, but gypsum can be an alternative. Observations show that students enjoy practicing fine arts.
This study combines painting with gypsum for a more varied artistic experience. Objectives: 1.) To understand the process of exploring painting on gypsum as a medium. 2.) To identify the results of exploring painting on gypsum as a medium. 3.) To understand students' responses to exploring painting on gypsum as a medium.
This research uses a qualitative research method. Data analysis was conducted by reducing, grouping, and presenting information descriptively. The process and results of learning two- and three-dimensional art with gypsum crafts at SMA Negeri 1 Krembung were carried out in March–April 2024. The subjects were students in class XI-1.
The process exploration process involved four stages: presentation of materials, gypsum preparation, painting process, and evaluation. Students worked in groups to prepare gypsum, water, molds, containers, paint, and brushes.
The results of the exploration showed that 36 students performed well in the activities conducted. However, 12 students encountered challenges such as cracks or breaksin their work. Success in the molding process was demonstrated by 24 students,while 34 students understood the concept of composition well. Additionally, 25students produced beautiful paintings.
Studentresponses from the questionnaire indicated that 95% of students were interested in the gypsum art project. 97% of students found it easy to carry out the project. Additionally,that, 93% of students expressed that there were unique challenges in theworking process. As many as 94% of students expressed satisfaction with their work.All students felt capable of understanding the molding techniques and painting art taught.
