Problem Orientation of Socio Scientific Issues (SSI) in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model to Improve Students Problem Solving Ability
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran IPA, peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, serta respon peserta didik setelah menerapkan pembelajaran berorientasi socio scientific issues pada model problem based learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah dari OECD tahun 2012. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest and posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 siswa kelas 7 MTsN Gresik. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi pengamatan, tes, dan survei. Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dianalisis menggunakan uji analisis N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata pelaksanaan pembelajaran sebesar 3.85 dengan kategori sangat baik. Peningkatan literasi informasi berdasarkan N-Gain sebesar 0.65 dengan kategori sedang. Respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran menunjukkan rata-rata sebesar 94% dengan kriteria sangat positif.
This research aims to describe the implementation of science learning, increasing problem solving abilities, and students' responses after implementing socio scientific issues oriented learning in the problem based learning model. This research uses indicators of problem solving ability from the OECD in 2012. The type of research used is pre-experimental design with a one group pretest and posttest design. The research subjects were 34 grade 7 students at MTsN Gresik. Data collection techniques include observations, tests, and surveys. The increase in problem solving abilities was analyzed using the N-Gain analysis test. The research results showed that the average learning implementation was 3.85 in the very good category. Increase in information literacy based on N-Gain of 0.65 in the medium category. Student responses to learning showed an average of 94% with very positive criteria.
