Plafon GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Cement) dari campuran bahan serat fiber merupakan salah satu jenis bahan bangunan yang memiliki harga jual yang relatif mahal, dikarenakan salah satu bahan dasar pembuat GRC itu sendiri yaitu fiberglass. Maka dari itu penulis dalam penelitian ini ingin memanfaatkan serat ampas tebu sebagai serat alami pengganti fiberglass.

Benda uji yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah plafon berukuran 60 x 30 x 0,5 cm dan mortar berukuran 5 x 5 x 5 cm, bebahan dasar semen portland, air, pasir dan serat. Dalam penelitian ini kadar serat ampas tebu sebagai pengganti fiberglass adalah 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% dengan usia benda uji 7 hari, 14 hari, dan 28 hari.

Nilai kuat lentur yang dihasilkan pada plafon GRC bersubsitusi serat tebu memiliki hasil terbaik pada benda uji berumur 28 hari dikomposisi 30% sebesar 11,86 MPa dan hasil terendah pada benda uji berumur 7 hari dikomposisi 10% sebesar 7,46 MPa. Nilai resapan pada plafon GRC memiliki hasil tertinggi pada benda uji berumur 7 hari dikomposisi 50% dan terendah pada beda uji 28 hari dikomposisi 10% sebesar 7,15%. Sedangkan untuk nilai kuat tekan pada mortar GRC bersubsitusi serat tebu memiliki hasil terbaik pada benda uji berumur 28 hari dikomposisi 30% sebesar 19,2 MPa, dan hasil terendah pada benda uji berumur 7  hari dikomposisi 10% sebesar 11,93 MPa.

                Value Strong flexible produced on the GRC ceiling made of fibers cane having results best in the test was 28 days compounded 30% of 11,86 MPa and results of the lowest in the test was 7 days compounded 10% of 7,46 MPa. Absorption value on the GRC ceiling having results on the highest objects test was 7 days compounded 50% and the lowest in 28 days compounded 10% of 7,15%. While to value compressive press test on mortar GRC made of fibers cane having results best in the test was 28 days compounded 30% of 19,2 MPa, and the results of the lowest in the test was 7 days compounded 10% of 11,93 MPa.
