THE ANALYSIS OF 元音 AND 辅音 PRONUNCIATION ERROR BY CHINESE LANGUAGE EDUCATION

In this globalization era, interest of learning
Mandarin in Indonesia has increased together with the amount demands on world
work that need Mandarin language skills. It also affects
the high interest of learning Mandarin. One of the educational institutions
that has a Chinese language curriculum is the Chinese Language Education Study
Program of Surabaya State University. Mandarin is one of language that
difficult to learned, in Mandarin there are vocal and consonant letters that
difficult to be correctly spoken by Indonesian learners. So, there is a very
high probability of pronunciation error while learning Mandarin.
This research was analyzed the form of errors and the factors of causing 元音 and 辅音 pronunciation
error by Chinese Language Education Study Program Of Surabaya State University
Class 2018. Data analysis techniques used in this research is descriptive
qualitative quantitative method with two instruments for collecting data, oral
test and questionnaire.
The results of this research show that the form of 元音 and 辅音 pronunciation error made is reducing
aspiration, adding aspiration, and phoneme replacement. The pronunciation error
of reducing aspiration is in the questions part B and C, namely reducing air
pressure when reciting letters and vocabulary with an error percentage 29%. The
pronunciation error of adding aspiration is in the questions part B and C,
namely adding air pressure when reciting letters and vocabulary with an error
percentage 15%. The pronunciation error of phoneme replacement is in the
questions part A, B, and C, namely changing the sound of the language in both
vocal and consonant letters with an error percentage 9%. The factors of causing
元音 and 辅音 pronunciation
error made by students is the difficulty of adjusting the speak tool for
Chinese vocal and consonant pronunciation, and the complexity of Chinese vocal
and consonant pronunciation techniques, as well as the interference of
Indonesian language as a mother language.
