Kain pelangi motif bintik lima merupakan salah satu warisan budaya tekstil khas Palembang yang memiliki nilai estetika tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penerapan kain pelangi motif bintik lima Palembang dengan kombinasi teknik sashiko pada outer serta hasil akhir dari penerapan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penciptaan karya menggunakan metode Double Diamond Model dari British Design Council yang terdiri dari empat tahapan. Tahap Discover, dilakukan pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur dan observasi mengenai motif bintik lima serta eksplorasi teknik sashiko yang berasal dari Jepang. Tahap Define, menetapkan konsep penerapan yang mencakup aspek estetika, fungsi, teknik, bahan, serta segmentasi pasar, yang kemudian diwujudkan dalam bentuk moodboard berjudul “Anasera” dan sketsa desain outer. Tahap Develop, tahapan prototype untuk menguji kelayakan. Tahap Deliver, instrument penelitian menggunakan lembar kuisoner berupa angket yang dibagikan kepada para ahli. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode rata-rata (mean). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi kain pelangi motif bintik lima dengan teknik sashiko pada outer memperoleh rata-rata nilai 4,43 (sangat baik) dari 4 aspek, yaitu aspek kreativitas dan orisinalitas karya, aspek komposisi dan tata letak sashiko, aspek warna, aspek fungsionalitas. Aspek dengan nilai tertinggi adalah aspek kreativitas dan orisinalitas karya dengan rata-rata 4,5, termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik.

Rainbow cloth with five-dot motif is one of Palembang's traditional textile heritages that has high aesthetic value. This study aims to determine the design process of Palembang's rainbow cloth with five-dot motif with a combination of sashiko techniques on the outer and the final results of the design. This study is a creation of work using the Double Diamond Model method from the British Design Council which consists of four stages. The Discover stage, data collection is carried out through literature studies and observations regarding the five-dot motif and exploration of the sashiko technique originating from Japan. The Define stage, determines the design concept that includes aspects of aesthetics, function, technique, materials, and market segmentation, which are then realized in the form of a moodboard entitled "Anasera" and an outer design sketch. The Develop stage, the prototype stage to test the feasibility. The Deliver stage, the research instrument uses a questionnaire sheet in the form of a questionnaire distributed to experts. The data analysis technique uses the average method (mean). The results of the study showed that the combination of rainbow cloth with five-dot motifs with the sashiko technique on the outer obtained an average value of 4.43 (very good) from 4 aspects, namely the aspect of creativity and originality of the work, the aspect of composition and layout of sashiko, the aspect of color, and the aspect of functionality. The aspect with the highest value is the aspect of creativity and originality of the work with an average of 4.5, included in the very good category.
