PENERAPAN METODE QUICK ON THE DRAW UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS TEMA BENDA-BENDA DI SEKITAR KITA PADA SISWA KELAS V SDN SUMBEREJO 2

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang belum memuaskan. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian tematik siswa kelas V SDN Sumberejo 2 setelah dianalisis, terdapat 69% siswa belum tuntas pada mata pelajaran IPS. Hal ini disebabkan karena: (1) pelaksanaan metode pembelajaran yang belum maksimal, (2) pengorganisasian kelompok belum efektif, saat penugasan berkelompok hanya beberapa anggota yang berkerja dan sisanya bermain sendiri bahkan mengganggu teman yang lain, (3) penggunaan sumber belajar siswa yang terbatas karena buku tematik yang dipinjamkan sekolah cukup satu buku untuk dua orang.
Solusi permasalahan tersebut, perlu diterapkannya suatu metode pembelajaran inovatif yang berpusat pada kegiatan aktif siswa dalam belajar. Salah satu metode inovatif ialah Quick on The Draw yang diperkenalkan Paul Ginnis. Metode ini dikemas dalam bentuk permainan kompetitif dengan mengembangkan kemampuan kerjasama dengan baik agar menjadi kelompok pertama yang dapat menyelesaikan satu set pertanyaan dengan cepat dan tepat.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) kolaboratif dua siklus. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SDN Sumberejo 2 Sidoarjo. Sekolah ini berlokasi di Ds. Sumberejo Kec. Wonoayu Kab. Sidoarjo. Penelitian dilaksanaka mengacu pada teori yang dikemukakan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggrat dimulai dari tahap perencanaan , tahap pelaksanaan dan pengamatan, dan tahap refleksi.
Hasil aktivitas guru dari siklus I-II sebesar 77% meningkat menjadi 92%. Hasil aktivitas siswa siklus I-II sebesar 77% menjadi 91%. Hasil belajar IPS siswa juga meningkat dari 31% tuntas menjadi 62% di siklus I dan 86% di siklus II. Disimpulkan dengan menerapkan metode Quick on The Draw dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar.

This research is motivated by students low learning outcomes on competencies of social studies subject. Based on the thematic’s score, got 62% of 29 students has not hit the minimum scores. When analyzed based on social sceince matter, there is 69% of the students not hit the scores. Because of the urgencies of the social science for student life so that teacher have planed to fix the learning process. Learning process is related about teacher’s plan for what method that matches with the students.
Based on the observation in fifth class, there are several causes dissatisfaction such as: (1) the unmaximal implementasion of learning methods; (2) uneffective of group organizing, only some of the members who work the assigment and the others just play around and bthor other friends; (3) and the limited amount of thematics books in school, only enough a book for twi people.
For solution, need to be prepared for an innovative learning method that focuses on students’ active in learning activities. One of the innovative methods is Quick on The Draw that introduced by Paul Ginnis. This method is a game to develop good cooperation skills that can complete a set of questions quickly and preciesly.
This research is a Classroom Action Reasearch (CAR) which do among two cycles. The subjects of this study is teacher and student of class V SDN Sumberejo 2. It is located at Ds. Sumberejo, Wonoayu, Sidoarjo. The researche is based on the theories presented by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. It started from the planning phase by preparing the necessary instruments. And then, the second phase is action and observation learning process on the same time. Lastly, reflection phase. It is reflection by summarizing the result of teacher’s activities and student activities, and also the result of test.
The results of the teacher activity of the I-II cycle amounted to 77% increased to 92%. The results of the I-II cycle students amounted to 77% to 90%. Learning Results IPS students also increased from 31% completed to 62% in cycle I and 86% in Cycle II. Deduced by implementing methods Quick on The Draw Students can improve their elementary school learning outcomes.
