Efektivitas Metode EGRA (Exposure, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application) dalam Pembelajaran Menyusun Kalimat Perkenalan Bahasa Jepang 

The Effectiveness of the EGRA (Exposure, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application) Method in Learning to Write Japanese Self-Introduction Sentences

Abstrak

   Kalimat perkenalan telah diajarkan pada siswa kelas X salah satu SMK di Surabaya. Namun, metode mengajar yang digunakan kurang menarik perhatian siswa sehingga siswa sulit memahami materi yang diajarkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan metode mengajar yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa. Salah satu metode mengajar yang dapat digunakan adalah metode EGRA (Exposure, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan metode EGRA dalam pembelajaran menyusun kalimat perkenalan bahasa Jepang. Selanjutnya adalah untuk mengetahui respon siswa terhadap penggunaan metode EGRA dalam pembelajaran menyusun kalimat perkenalan bahasa Jepang. Terakhir adalah untuk mengetahui respon guru terhadap penggunaan metode EGRA dalam pembelajaran menyusun kalimat perkenalan bahasa Jepang. Metode penelitian yang dipakai yaitu metode penelitian eksperimen dengan jenis quasi experimental design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 36 siswa dan kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Dari hasil analisis data melalui SPSS versi 25 diketahui bahwa t_hitung kurang dari t_tabel (0,215 < 1,997), sehingga diperoleh hasil bahwa Ho diterima sedangkan Ha ditolak dengan simpulan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat perkenalan antara kelompok siswa yang diajar menggunakan metode EGRA dengan kelompok siswa yang tidak diajar menggunakan metode EGRA. Persentase jawaban setiap pernyataan pada angket respon siswa dihitung dan diketahui bahwa tafsiran persentase angket memiliki kriteria yang baik dengan nilai 70%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa menurut siswa metode EGRA membantu siswa untuk lebih memahami materi.  Selanjutnya, persentase jawaban setiap pernyataan pada angket respon guru dihitung dan diketahui bahwa tafsiran persentase angket memiliki kriteria yang baik dengan nilai 73%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa menurut guru metode EGRA dapat membuat siswa lebih aktif.

Abstract

   The sentences in self introduction have been taught to class X  students of a vocational high school in Surabaya. However the teaching method that has been used can’t attract student’s attention which makes  students hard to understand the subject matter. Therefore the teaching method that can attract students is required. One of teaching methods that can use is EGRA (Exposure, Generalization, Reinforcement, Application) method.This research aims to know the effects of using EGRA method at studies about writing self introduction sentences. The second purpose is to know the student’s responses toward using EGRA method at studies about writing self introduction sentences. The last purpose is to know the teacher’s responses toward using EGRA method at studies about writing self introduction sentences. The research methods that has been used is experiment method which is quasi experimental design. The research’s sample consists of control class with 36 students and experiment class with 36 students. The result of analyzing data using SPSS 25 version is t_count less than t_table (0,215 < 1,997), hence H_o accepted and H_a rejected. The conclusion is there is no significant difference between students that used EGRA method and students that didn’t used EGRA method. The answer percentage of each statement of the student response questionnaire has been counted and it discovered that interpretation of questionnaire percentage has good criteria with 70%. It shows that according to students EGRA method can help students to understand the subject matter. Last, the answer percentage of each statement of teacher response questionnaire has been counted and it discovered that interpretation of questionnaire percentage has good criteria with 73%. It shows that according to teacher EGRA method can make students more active during leraning in the class.
