ABSTRACT
Students of SMAN
1 Manyar Gresik, especially classes with Japanese class, are known have
difficulty mastering of vocabulary. Mastering of vocabulary is important in the
process of learning Japanese, therefore in this learning used make and match technique,
so students are more active in the teaching and learning process. The purpose
of this study is to describe the effectiveness of the cooperative learning by make
a match technique, to know the activity of students in the learning process,
and to describe the students response for using cooperative learning by make a match
technique in Japanese vocabulary to improve students’ sentence writing skills.
This study is a
quantitative study of true experimental
design. The population in this study are the students of 10th grades of SMAN 1 Manyar Gresik with 196 students. The
sample in this study class with a total of 33 students. The learning process in
the control class is using conventional learning while the experimental class is
using cooperative learning by make a match technique. The data taken in this
study are the pre-test and post-test values of the experimental class and the
control class as well as the result of observations and student response
questionnaires.
Based on the analysis
of data that has been done, the results obtained are 4.288>1.66 (0.05, df –
64) or tcount>ttable so that it can be concluded that the
cooperative learning by make a match technique has a significant effect on the student
learning outcomes. Based on the observation sheet, the activity of students showed
an average percentage of 82.87% in the experimental class and 60.6% in the control
class. So it can be concluded that students are more active in the experimental
class. Based on the results of student questionnaire responses to the
cooperative learning by make a match technique, it is known that the average of
questions one to five, shows very strong criteria, namely 81%-100% so students agree
that the cooperative learning technique produce suitable for use in the
Japanese learning process.
