Abstract
Nowadays, life is very attached to mass media, one form
of modern mass media is the animated film series. The animated film Upin and
Ipin not only has an impact on children's knowledge but also extends to the
realm of language. The Malay language used in the animated film Upin and Ipin
is often imitated by children aged six to twelve years so that the form of
language absorbed by the child will influence the child's dialect. This
research aims to describe the influence of form, function, and factors that influence
the Malay dialect in the animated film Upin and Ipin so that it is liked by
children aged six to twelve years. The research method used is descriptive
qualitative. Research data was obtained through interviews with respondents,
namely children aged 6-12 years (school age) who live in Dsn. Dukuh Ds.
Dukuhagung Ds. There are 6 people (Aqila, Rindu, Gibran, Arra, Falah, and
Andika). The data collection method was carried out by listening using a
purposive sampling technique. The results of this research found differences in
linguistic elements in the dialects of Indonesian and Malaysian Malay
consisting of differences in phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. The
function of language dialects is divided into 4 functions, namely stimulus,
expressive, descriptive, and argumentative. The function of the Malay dialect
has many benefits in the development of children's ways of learning new
languages. The factors that influence the Malay dialect in the animated film
Upin and Ipin so that it is liked by children aged six to twelve years are
divided into two, namely internal factors and external factors.
