The aim of the study was to find out: 1) the analysis of learning effectivity by applying telegram and socrative application to students’ ability in doing underhand and overhead pass techniques, 2) the effect of telegram and socrative application in students’ learning activities to their ability in doing underhand and overhead pass techniques. This research employed quasy experiment model with qualitative approach. The instruments of this research were: 1) Formative Class Evaluation, 2) Observation sheets, 3) students’ assessment rubric, 4) students’ test.
From the findings of the research, students who filled out the Formative Class Evaluation in the first treatment and second treatment has the average score of 4 and it was categorized as baik (good). From three observers, it was found out that the success of students’ assessment was 72.76% and it was categorized as baik (good). From students’ minimum score (KKM) which is 75, it was showed that the percentage of students’ minimum score who reached the minimum score was 48.39%. The detail were as follows: underhand passing from the experimental group, there was an improvement from pretest to posttest which is 29.24% while the overhead passing test was 28.66%. In control group, there was also an improvement but not as high as the experimental ones, it was only 16.61% and from the overhead passing test, it was only 5.57% improvement. It showed us that learning activities which were employing audio visual media was very effective to be applied in the class.
Based on the result of analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) the learning activities by using telegram and socrative had good impact on students’ ability in doing passing and it was adjusted with the infrastructures at SMKN 4 Malang. Most students were enthusiastic in both engaging the learning process and doing physical exercises. 2) Give a good effect and it can be seen that the test results of students ability in doing the passing is improving. It is showed that the test results gained by experimental group when they did pretest and posttest had a significant improvement before and after receiving the treatment. There are some suggestions proposed: 1) Teacher of physical education can apply telegram and socrative in their teaching and learning process as their way of showing creativity in engaging the class. 2) Teacher of physical education are urged to make the most of their smartphone as the tool for teaching media, and 3) for other researcher, they can do the same experiment but in different level of education or institution.
