Learning at Vocational School State 3 Buduran Sidoarjo is still done
using direct learning model. Consequently, many students who have difficulty in
learning. With cooperative learning model type Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) each
student is free to express and communicate ideas with other students who are
expected to improve activity and response of students in learning activities
that positively affects student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research
to know the effect of cooperative learning model type TSTS the learning
outcomes of students on the subjects of Basic Engineering Work. Moreover, the
purpose of this research to know the activity of the students and the students'
response of cooperative learning model type TSTS on the subjects of Basic
Engineering Work.
This research is a descriptive study, a draft design of the study is a
quasi experimental design as in this design for experimental and control class
has been determined. The research instrument used questionnaire observation of
student activity during the learning progresses, student questionnaire
responses at the end of the lesson, as well as the pre-test and post-test with
material knowledge of the material. Then the data were analyzed by descriptive
quantitative.
Based on the results of student learning outcomes there are differences
in the average post-test results of the experimental and control class by using
t-test obtained tcount > ttable (10.62 > 1.671). It
shows that the cooperative learning type TSTS have the ability positively to
student learning outcomes so that it can be concluded that the study of Basic
Engineering Work by using cooperative learning model type TSTS more effective
than using direct learning model. Activities of students in cooperative
learning type TSTS positive results with the percentage of observation of
student activity by 79% and can be categorized students actively in learning.
Student responses on the cooperative learning type TSTS had a very good
response to the acquisition of the results of a questionnaire rating of 82%. It
shows students consider cooperative learning type TSTS fun and help them
understand the material provided.
