BUNDER-GRESIK BUS STATION IN 1997-2016

Terminal Bunder merupakan relokasi dari Terminal Sidomoro yang menjadi terminal utama di Kabupaten Gresik. Pembangunan prasarana transportasi seperti Terminal Bunder memberikan kemudahan akses dan mobilitas penduduk guna menunjang keadaan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat. Keberadaan Terminal Bunder telah menjadikan arus lalu lintas di wilayah perkotaan Gresik menjadi lebih teratur dan lancar, serta berdampak untuk mengurangi kemacetan wilayah perkotaan Gresik. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengapa Terminal Sidomoro dipindahkan ke Terminal Bunder?; 2) Bagaimana pengelolaan Terminal Bunder sepanjang Tahun 1997-2016?; 3) Bagaimana dampak ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya Terminal Bunder bagi masyarakat sekitar?. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu Heuristik, Verifikasi, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa perpindahan Terminal Sidomoro ke Terminal Bunder dikarenakan Terminal Sidomoro berada  di pusat Kota Gresik yang padat dan kapasitas terminal yang sudah tidak mampu menampung volume kendaraan serta penumpang. Pengelolaan Terminal Bunder masih belum optimal karena masih ditemukan kekurangan dari pelayanan dan fasilitas yang ada, sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan.

Bunder Bus Station is a relocation from the Sidomoro Bus Station which is the main terminal in Gresik Regency. Development of transportation infrastructure such as the Bunder Bus Station provides easy access and mobility of the population to support the economic and social conditions of the community. The existence of the Bunder Bus Station has made traffic flow in the Gresik urban area more orderly and smoother, and has had the impact of reducing congestion in the Gresik urban area.The formulation of the problems in this study are: 1) Why was Sidomoro Bus Station moved to Bunder Bus Station?; 2) How was the management of the Bunder Bus Station during 1997-2016?; 3) What are the economic, social and cultural impacts of Bunder Bus Station on the surrounding community? This study uses historical research methods which consist of four stages, namely Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation and Historiography. The results of this study can be concluded that the transfer of the Sidomoro Bus Station to the Bunder Bus Station is because the Sidomoro Bus Station is in the center of the densely populated city of Gresik and the terminal capacity is no longer able to accommodate the volume of vehicles and passengers. In its management, Bunder Bus Station management is still not optimal because there are still many deficiencies found in existing services and facilities, so it needs to be repaired.
