THE EFFECT OF DRILL METHOD ON SKILLS USING CANE TECHNIQUES FOR BLIND STUDENTS

Keterampilan menggunakan Teknik tongkat dibutuhkan oleh tunanetra teknik tongkat berbeda dengan pendekatan pendamping awas, di mana tunanetra bergantung pada orang awas untuk memandunya dengan teknik tongkat memungkinkan tunanetra melakukan perjalanan secara mandiri dan aman, melalui penggunaan teknik-teknik ini dengan benar tunanetra dapat mengenali lingkungan sekitar dengan aman tanpa menabrak atau terjatuh, teknik tongkat yang harus dipelajari seperti teknik naik turun tangga, teknik navigasi rintangan, dan teknik memegang tongkat, metode pembelajaran yang sesuai digunakan yaitu metode drill merupakan satu kegiatan melakukan hal yang sama berulang-ulang secara sungguh-sungguh dengan tujuan untuk memperkuat suatu asosiasi atau menyempurnakan suatu keterampilan agar menjadi bersifat permanen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh metode drill terhadap keterampilan menggunakan teknik tongkat bagi peserta didik tunanetra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan pra-eksperimen kelompok tunggal. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 4 peserta didik tunanetra kelas 6 dan 7 di SLB N Cermee Gersik, Instrumen yang digunakan tes perbuatan keterampilan menggunakan teknik tongkat. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji wilcoxon signed-rank, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor keterampilan menggunakan teknik tongkat sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan, metode drill hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode drill berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menggunakan teknik tongkat bagi peserta didik tunanetra.

To strengthen an association or perfect a skill so that it becomes permanent. This research aims to determine the effect of the drill method on the skills of using stick techniques for blind students. The research method used was quantitative research with a single group pre-experiment plan. The research sample consisted of 4 blind students in grades 6 and 7 at SLB N Cermee Gersik. The instrument used was a skills test using the stick technique. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test, the results showed that there was a significant difference between the skill scores using the stick technique before and after treatment, the drill method. This shows that the drill method had a positive effect on improving skills using the stick technique for blind students.
