INNOVATION OF MEN'S WAITCOAT PLAIN WEAVE COMBINATION

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memadukan hasil pengembangan desain waistcoat dan hasil jadi waistcoat dengan kombinasi plain weave. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Double Diamond Model yang terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu, Discover, Define, Develop, dan Deliver. Pada tahap awal mencari sumber ide, Mengumpulkan inspirasi untuk dijadikan moodboard. Tahap kedua yaitu membuat moodboard sesuai dengan ide yang telah ditentukan. Tahap ketiga pengembangan desain waistcoat dengan kombinasi motif plain weave yang terpilih. Tahap keempat tahap terakhir pengumpulan data oleh para penguji dan ahli fashion. Teknik pengumpulan data pada proses penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi.  Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan nilai mean atau rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inovasi dalam desain waistcoat kombinasi plain weave dapat meningkatkan nilai unik dan fungsional busana, memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan desain busana pria modern, memberikan nilai eksplorasi pada busana pria dengan nilai aspek 1-4 yang dihasilkan yaitu dari aspek kesesuaian desain mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 4,23, aspek prinsip desain mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 4,15, aspek kesesuaian desain dengan hasil jadi mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 4,23, dan aspek daya pakai mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 4,15.  Dari hasil pengumpulan dan analisis data menunjukan bahwa desain waistcoat kombinasi plain weave diminati oleh para observer. Desain waistcoat pria kombinasi plain weave pada umumnya dilakukan dengan mendesain waistcoat sedemikian rupa untuk dapat menghasilkan, meningkatkan nilai unik dan fungsional busana. 

This research aims to describe the process of developing the design of a waistcoat and the final product of the waistcoat with a plain weave combination. The research method used is the Double Diamond Model, which consists of four stages: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. Discover Stage At this stage, the researcher seeks sources of ideas and gathers inspiration to create a moodboard. A moodboard is a collection of images, colors, and textures that represent the design concept to be developed. Define Stage In the second stage, the researcher creates a moodboard according to the ideas determined in the Discover stage. This moodboard serves as a visual guide for the subsequent design development process. Develop Stage In the third stage, the design of the waistcoat with the chosen plain weave motif is developed. This involves detailed design work to combine the plain weave pattern with the waistcoat design. Deliver Stage The final stage involves collecting data from evaluators and fashion experts. Data collection techniques in this research use observation sheets. Data Analysis The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative analysis using the mean or average values. The research results show that the innovation in waistcoat design with a plain weave combination can enhance the uniqueness and functionality of the garment, contribute to the development of modern men's fashion design, and provide exploration value in men's clothing. The aspects assessed in the study include, Design suitability, with an average score of 4.23, Design principles, with an average score of 4.15, Design suitability with the final product, with an average score of 4.23, Wearability, with an average score of 4.15. The data collection and analysis results indicate that the plain weave combination waistcoat design is favored by the observers. Generally, the design of men's waistcoats with a plain weave combination is carried out in such a way to enhance the unique and functional value of the clothing.
