The Development of Case-Based Animated Learning Video in Archival Management Subject at SMKN 4 Surabaya

The use of conventional learning media causes low motivation which has an impact on the quality of student learning outcomes. In the digital era, the use of technology-based media is needed to improve the quality of learning outcomes, one of which is animated learning videos. This study aims to develop animated learning videos based on case studies to determine the feasibility, student responses, and their effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study was conducted at SMKN 4 Surabaya with subjects of class XI Office Management students. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and posttest questions. The research instruments consisted of material and media expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, interview sheets and multiple choice questions. Data were analyzed quantitatively using the Mann-Whitney non-parametric test and Effect Size calculations. The results showed that the developed learning videos met the criteria of "Very Feasible" from material experts by 90% and media experts by 97.33% and received a positive response from students by 98.44%. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference of 0.019. Meanwhile, the effect size result is 0.302 which indicates effectiveness in the “Moderate” category. In conclusion, the case study-based learning animation video is Feasible and effective to be applied in the learning process.
