KULTUR SEKOLAH BERBASIS ADIWIYATA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEJURUAN DALAM MENGUATKAN KARAKTER PEDULI LINGKUNGAN
ADIWIYATA-BASED SCHOOL CULTURE IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS TO STRENGTHEN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS CHARACTER
Penelitian ini memfokuskan pembahasan terkait bagaimana kultur sekolah berbasis adiwiyata di SMKN 2 Buduran dalam menguatkan karakter peduli lingkungan. Hal ini dilakukan, guna mengetahui sejauh mana kultur sekolah Adiwiyata yang telah diterapkan di SMKN 2 Buduran. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah lingkungan sekolah, tim adiwiyata, guru dan siswa SMKN 2 Buduran. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Data analisis menggunakan teknik analisis Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi/kesimpulan. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diuraikan maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa kultur sekolah berbasis adiwiyata yang meliputi kegiatan rutin, kegiatan spontan, keteladanan, pengondisian, edukatif, partisipasif dan berkelanjutan dapat menguatkan karakter peduli lingkungan di kalangan warga sekolah. Namun, perlu adanya peningkatan agar lebih optimal seperti program 3R dalam pengelolaan sampah. Faktor penunjang dalam pengembangan kultur sekolah berbasis Adiwiyata adalah adanya visi dan misi sekolah yang mengedepankan sikap peduli lingkungan serta warga sekolah yang saling mendukung dan bekerjasama. Sedangkan faktor yang menghambat yaitu masalah dana dimana anggarannya terbatas untuk Program Adiwiyata ini.
This research focuses on discussing how the Adiwiyata-based school culture in SMKN 2 Buduran strengthens environmental care character. This is done to determine the extent to which the Adiwiyata school culture has been implemented in SMKN 2 Buduran. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach that generates descriptive data. The data sources of this research are the school environment, the Adiwiyata team, teachers, and students of SMKN 2 Buduran. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation using snowball sampling technique. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman's analysis technique, with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. Data validity is ensured through triangulation.
Based on the findings presented in this research, it can be concluded that the Adiwiyata-based school culture, which includes routine activities, spontaneous activities, role modeling, conditioning, educational activities, participatory activities, and sustainability, can strengthen environmental care character among school members. However, there is a need for improvement to make it more optimal, such as implementing the 3R program for waste management. Supporting factors in the development of Adiwiyata-based school culture are the school's vision and mission that prioritize an environmentally conscious attitude, as well as the mutual support and cooperation among school members. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include financial issues, where the budget for the Adiwiyata Program is limited.
