ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN CODEC HEVC DAN AVC PADA VIDEO STREAMING MENGGUNAKAN METODE QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS)
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF HEVC AND AVC CODECS IN VIDEO STREAMING USING THE QUALITY OF SERVICE (QOS) METHOD
Dalam era digital saat ini, permintaan akan layanan video streaming berkualitas tinggi terus meningkat. Codec video seperti High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) dan Advanced Video Coding (AVC) memainkan peran penting dalam meningkatkan performa layanan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan kinerja kedua codec dalam konteks video streaming dengan menggunakan parameter Quality of Service (QoS), yang mencakup throughput, delay, packet loss. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan implementasi kedua codec pada platform streaming dan pengukuran performanya di berbagai kondisi jaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa HEVC menawarkan kualitas video yang lebih baik dengan efisiensi kompresi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan AVC. Namun, dalam kondisi jaringan tertentu, perbedaan performa antara HEVC dan AVC dapat mempengaruhi tingkat delay dan packet loss.

In today’s digital era, the demand for high-quality video streaming service continues to rise. Video codecs such as High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and Advanced Video Coding (AVC) play a crucial role in enhancing the performance of these service. This study aims to analyze and compare the performance of both codecs in the context of video streaming using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, which include throughput, delay, and packet loss. The methodology involves implementing both codecs on a streaming platform and measuring their performance under various network conditions. The results indicate that HEVC provides better video quality with higher compression efficiency compared to AVC. However, under certain network conditions, the performance differences between HEVC and AVC can affect the levels of delay and packet loss.
