FERDINAND'S PERSONALITY IN THE DRAMA KABALE UND LIEBE

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tipe kepribadian ekstrovert dan introvert tokoh Ferdinand dalam drama Kabale und Liebe karya Friedrich Schiller. Penelitian ini juga mengkaji keterkaitan kepribadian tokoh dengan unsur intrinsik karya sastra, meliputi tokoh, alur, latar, sudut pandang, dan tema. Data penelitian berupa dialog-dialog Ferdinand yang menunjukkan perilaku, tindakan, dan reaksi emosional tokoh dalam drama tersebut. Fokus utama penelitian diarahkan pada pengungkapan ciri-ciri tipe kepribadian ekstrovert dan introvert terhadap tekanan sosial dan konflik kekuasaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan teknik analisis teks. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengaitkan data teks drama dengan teori tipe kepribadian ekstrovert dan introvert serta konsep unsur intrinsik sastra, sehingga tipe kepribadian tokoh tidak hanya dipahami secara psikologis, tetapi juga dalam fungsinya membangun struktur cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ferdinand memiliki kecenderungan tipe kepribadian ekstrovert. Kepribadian tokoh berperan penting dalam menggerakkan konflik dan alur cerita, sekaligus menegaskan tema mengenai kritik terhadap kekuasaan dan hubungan cinta antara Ferdinand dan Luise yang terhalang perbedaan kasta sosial dalam drama Kabale und Liebe.

This study aims to describe the extroverted and introverted personality types of the character Ferdinand in Friedrich Schiller's play Kabale und Liebe. This study also examines the relationship between the characters' personalities and the intrinsic elements of literary works, including characters, plot, setting, point of view, and theme. The research data consists of Ferdinand's dialogues that show the character's behavior, actions, and emotional reactions in the play. The main focus of the study is on revealing the characteristics of extroverted and introverted personality types in response to social pressure and power conflicts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method and text analysis technique. The analysis was carried out by linking the text data of the drama with the theory of extroverted and introverted personality types and the concept of intrinsic literary elements, so that the character's personality type is not only understood psychologically but also in its function of constructing the story structure. The results of the study show that Ferdinand has an extrovert personality type. The characters' personalities play an important role in driving the conflict and plot, while also reinforcing the themes of criticism of power and the love relationship between Ferdinand and Luise, which is hindered by social class differences in the play Kabale und Liebe.
