CASE STUDY SELF-ESTEEM PADA INDIVIDU REMAJA TUNARUNGU DENGAN DISABILITAS MAJEMUK YANG BERPRESTASI NASIONAL
CASE STUDY OF SELF-ESTEEM IN INDIVIDUAL OF DEAF ADOLESCENT WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES WHO HAVE NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT
Self-esteem merupakan suatu cara seseorang untuk mengevaluasi diri dan membandingkan konsep diri yang ideal berdasarkan keinginanya (ideal self) untuk berada dalam suatu kondisi yang diharapkan dengan kondisi sebenarnya (self real). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah self-esteem remaja tunarungu disertai disabilitas majemuk yang berprestasi nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus (case study) yang menelaah self-esteem pada individu remaja tunarungu disertai disabilitas majemuk di Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri Gedangan, Sidoarjo. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini mengadaptasi empat aspek self-esteem dari Coopersmith (1967). Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik thematic analysis dari Braun dan Clarke (2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self esteem remaja tunarungu disertai disabilitas majemuk tergolong dalam self-esteem tingkat tinggi. Kesimpulan penelitian self-esteem pada individu remaja tunarungu disertai disabilitas majemuk yang berprestasi nasional tergolong dalam self-esteem tingkat tinggi yang dipengaruhi oleh 2 faktor, yakni faktor internal dan faktor eksternal.

Self-esteem is a way for someone to evaluate themselves and compare their ideal self-concept based on their desire (ideal self) to be in an expected condition with the actual condition (real self). This research aims to examine the self-esteem of deaf adolescent with multiple disabilities who have national achievements. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach which examines the self-esteem of deaf adolescent individuals with multiple disabilities at Gedangan State Special School, Sidoarjo. Data was collected by observation, interviews and documentation. This instrument research adapts four aspects of self-esteem according to Coopersmith (1967) and is analyzed using Braun and Clarke (2006) thematic analysis technique. The result of the research shows that the self-esteem of deaf adolescent with multiple disabilities is classified as a high level of self-esteem. The conclusion of the research is that self-esteem in deaf adolescent individuals with multiple disabilities who have national achievement is classified as a high level of self-esteem which is influenced by 2 factors, namely internal factors and external factors.
