THE INFLUENCE OF TPACK-BASED
DIFFERENTIATED LEARNING ON THE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF IDENTIFYING AND SUMMARIZING

the world of education, Indonesian is one of the compulsory subjects that must
exist and be applied at all levels, from elementary to high school equivalent.
Indonesian language learning always includes various types of texts as learning
materials, one of which is text explanation. The actualization of explanatory
text learning is influenced by the diversity or variation of learning
simulations used, and it is necessary to update learning to increase satisfaction
and learning outcomes by applying of TPACK-based differentiated learning. This
study aims to describe the dominant learning style possessed by eight graders
at SMP Negeri 42 Surabaya, the implementation of TPACK-based differentiated
learning, and its effect on student learning outcomes. To fulfill these
objectives, researchers used True Experiment research with a Pretest-Posttest
Control Group Design. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires,
observation, and tests, while the data analysis techniques used are normality,
homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The results of this study show that there
are two learning styles are dominantly owned by students in eight grade at SMP
Negeri 42 Surabaya, namely auditorial and visual learning styles with the
highest percentages of 46% and 44% respectively. The implementation of
TPACK-based differentiated learning was carried out based on students learning
styles by applying lecture, Focus Group Discussion, and Window Shopping
methods, which succeeded in increasing student participation with percentage of
86% in the excellent category. The test hypothesis test show that in the
competency of identifying and summarizing the explanatory text, the
significance value smaller than 0,5, namely 0,000 and 0,002 so it can be
concluded that there is an effect of TPACK-based differentiated learning on the
learning outcomes of identifying and summarizing the explanatory text.
