Hypertension is a condition in which a person's systolic blood
pressure reaches ≥140 mmHg and/or his diastolic blood pressure is ≥90
mmHg after repeated repetition. Based on the preliminary studies that
have been conducted, the number of hypertension sufferers in the working
area of the Sedati Health Center has increased in 2021 to as many as
28,624 sufferers. Most of the hypertension sufferers are residents of
Pabean Village, namely as many as 5,675 sufferers. The purpose of this
study was to describe the level of intake of macronutrients (energy,
carbohydrates, protein, fat) and sodium, nutritional status, smoking
habits, and physical activity in hypertensive patients aged 40-60 years in
Pabean Village, Sedati District, Sidoarjo Regency.
The type of research is descriptive-quantitative using a cross-sectional research design. The sample in this study was 99 respondents
using purposive sampling technique. The data that collected by this study
is using questionnaire, namely semi-quantitative food frequency
questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) to obtain macronutrient and sodium intake data,
height and weight measurements to obtain nutritional status data, Baecke questionnaire to obtain physical activity data, and a questionnaire
smoking habit. Data analysis in this study used univariate analysis.
The results showed that 73% of respondents had a deficit in
carbohydrate intake, 60% of respondents had a deficit in protein intake,
56% of respondents had excess fat intake, 81% of respondents had excess
sodium intake, 51% of respondents had obese nutritional status. , 21% of
respondents have moderate smoking habits, and 62% of respondents have
heavy physical activity.
