Design of a Semi Automatic Coffee Roasting Machine
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun mesin roasting (penyangrai) kopi semi automatic yang efisien dan terjangkau. Studi literatur dilakukan untuk memperoleh pemahaman tentang proses penyangraian kopi dan inovasi terbaru dalam desain mesin penyangrai kopi. Analisis masalah dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi kendala dalam penyangraian kopi saat ini. Perhitungan ditentukan untuk merancang mesin roasting kopi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Proses perancangan meliputi pembuatan rangka, tabung penyangrai, dan pemilihan motor. Setelah perancangan selesai, dilakukan perakitan mesin dan uji fungsi alat. Data yang diperoleh dari uji fungsi alat dikumpulkan dan dianalisis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, mesin roasting kopi semi automatic yang hemat energi dan terjangkau dirancang dan dibangun. Drum roasting bervolume 0.04m memiliki mesin dengan daya 0,49 HP dan memiliki gaya total sebesar 322,66 N. Kinerja mesin roasting (penyangrai) kopi semi automatic didapatkan rpm dengan output sebesar 60 rpm, kemudian mesin berjalan dengan putaran drum yang memiliki kecepatan anguler sebesar 6,28rad/s. Mesin roasting kopi semi automatic mampu menyangrai kopi hingga light roast selama 10 – 12 menit, medium roast 15 – 17 menit, medium dark roast 18 – 21 menit, dan dark roast 23 – 26 menit pada kecepatan tabung 60 rpm dan suhu tabung 195°C.
Abstract: This study aims to design and build an efficient and affordable semi-automatic coffee roasting machine. A literature study was conducted to gain an understanding of the coffee roasting process and the latest innovations in coffee roaster design. Problem analysis is carried out to identify constraints in current coffee roasting. Calculations are determined to design a coffee roasting machine that suits your needs. The design process includes making the frame, roaster tube, and selecting the motor. After the design is complete, the machine is assembled and the tool functions tested. The data obtained from the tool function test were collected and analyzed. Based on research results, an affordable and energy-efficient semi-automatic coffee roasting machine was designed and built. The 0.04m volume roasting drum has an engine with a power of 0.49HP and a total force of 322.66N. The performance of the semi-automatic coffee roasting machine is obtained at an rpm with an output of 60 rpm, then the machine runs with a rotating drum which has an angular speed of 6.28 rad/s. Semi-automatic coffee roasting machines are capable of roasting coffee to light roast for 10-12 minutes, medium roast 15-17 minutes, medium dark roast 18-21 minutes, and dark roast 23-26 minutes at a tube speed of 60 rpm and a tube temperature of 195°C.
