Physical education is an educational process that
prioritizes physical activity with the aim of achieving the essence of
education. With physical education in formal education, namely in schools, it
is hoped that it can encourage the development of physical fitness and a
healthy lifestyle for children at an early age. Apart from that, the
availability of facilities and infrastructure is also expected to be useful for
fostering students' physical fitness. Small games aim to invite students to
move without coercion so that when small games are given at the opening of
learning, it is felt that students will take PJOK subjects seriously from the
start of learning. Then a small game is given when closing learning aims to
increase or revive enthusiasm so that they can concentrate on the next subject
with notes that the small game given at the opening and closing does not
indicate that students are tired so that students can follow the next subject
well. This study aims to determine the development of games without tools as
the opening and closing of PJOK learning in grade IV elementary school students.
This research uses the type of research used is the
method of research and development (research & development). The subjects
in this study used all students at SDN Rejomulyo grade IV for small group
experiments. For the large group experiment, class IV Milangsari 1 Elementary
School, Panekan District, Magetan Regency. The games developed are Paired
Snakes, Catching Fish, Bull Races and Mutual Prey. The research phase includes
the pre-development stage including (1) literature study (2) needs analysis (3)
compiling a research proposal (4) planning and manufacturing of the initial
product. Then the development stage includes (1) initial product revision (2)
initial field trial (3) second product revision (4) second field trial (5)
final product revision and finally the dissemination or production stage of the
development results. This study used 16 students for the initial experiment and
34 students for the large group experiment.
Based on several trial stages from start to finish as
well as the results of expert validation, it can be concluded that small games
without tools can be said to be effective for use as an opening and closing in
PJOK learning, but need further improvement in further research.
