Drumband sebagai kegitan ekstrakurikuler terbagi atas beberapa lintasan kreatifitas bagi siswa, yaitu memainkan musik, baris berbaris dan gerakan tari. Sangat memungkinkan jika kemudian drumband menjadi kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang banyak digemari. Persoalannya adalah tidak semua sekolah memiliki metode pembelajaran drumband yang signifikan dan maksimal, disebabkan minimnya literatur pembelajaran drumband bagi siswa. Karenanya memungkinkan untuk meningkatkan literatur dalam bentuk buku pembelajaran drumband guna menunjang kemajuan belajar siswa.
Penelitian pengembangan buku pembelajaran mengacu pada teori konstruktivisme, sebagai penyesuaian kondisi objektif yang perlu dikembangkan di lapangan, dan bertujuan dalam mengembangakan kemandirian berpikir kritis dan memotivasi siswa. Tahapan dalam penelitian pengembangan mengunakan prosedur Four D yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pangembangan), dan disemination (penyebaran). Penyusunan hasil penelitian memperoleh rincian proses dan kualitas buku pengembangan buku teknik dasar drumband: (l) proses pengembangan buku teknik dasar drumband divisi brassline dan battery untuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, (2) kualitas produk buku teknik dasar drumband divisi brassline dan battery untuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, (3) keefektifan produk buku teknik dasar drumband divisi brassline dan battery untuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler.
Proses pengembangan dilakukan mengacu pada prosedur 4D dan telah melalui tahapan sebagai berikut: (1) Desain awal buku (draft 1) diserahkan kepada validator materi dan validator desain, (2) Hasil revisi dari validasi 1 disebut dengan draft 2, (3) draft 2 digunakan untuk uji coba 1 (kecil), (4) draft 2 diserahkan kepada validator materi dan validator desain, (5) hasil revisi berdasarkan evaluasi dari uji coba 1 dan validasi 2 disebut draft 3 (final), (6) draft 3 digunakan untuk uji coba 2 (luas). Hasil validasi untuk mengukur kualitas produk buku memperoleh persentase 92% materi dan 91% untuk desain. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: (1) persentase hasil respon guru pembina adalah 84%, (2) persentase hasil respon siswa 84%, (3) hasil tes pemahaman siswa mendapatkan persentase 91%, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Buku Teknik Dasar Drumband sangat layak sebagai buku panduan teknik dasar drumband ditinjau dari respon guru dan siswa

Drumband as an extracurricular activity is divided into several trajectories of creativity for students, namely playing music, marching and dance movements. It is very possible if then drumband becomes a much-loved extracurricular activity. The problem is that not all schools have a significant and maximum drumband learning method, due to the lack of drumband learning literature for students. Therefore it is possible to increase literature in the form of drumband learning books to support student learning progress.
Study book development research refers to constructivism theory, as an adjustment to objective conditions that need to be developed in the field, and aims to develop independent critical thinking and motivate students. The stages in development research use the Four D procedure, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The preparation of the research results obtained details of the process and quality of the drumband basic technical book development: (l) the process of developing the basic drumband technical book for the brassline and battery division for extracurricular activities, (2) the product quality of the basic drumband technical book for the brassline and battery division for extracurricular activities, (3) the effectiveness of the basic technical book products of the brassline and battery division for extracurricular activities.
The development process is carried out according to the 4D procedure and has gone through the following stages: (1) The initial design of the book (draft 1) is submitted to the learning material validator and design validator, (2) The revised results from first validation are called draft 2, (3) draft 2 used for first trial (small), (4) draft 2 was submitted to the learnign material validator and design validator, (5) the revised results based on the evaluation of first trial and second validation were called draft 3 (final), (6) draft 3 was used for the second trial (broad). The validation results to measure the quality of book products obtained a percentage of 92% for learnign material and 91% for design. The results of the data analysis show that: (1) the percentage of the supervisory teacher's response results is 84%, (2) the percentage of student response results is 84%, (3) the results of the student understanding test get a percentage of 91%, it can be concluded that the Drumband Basic Technical Book is very feasible as drumband basic technique manual book in terms of teacher and student responses.
