Flying Seagull Formation as Inspiration for Creating Mixed Media Fine Art

Nature always presents beauty that can be seen and felt. The phenomenon of seagull formations attracts the attention of artists because of the formation patterns that look dynamic, harmonious and orderly. The formation of seagulls when flying in groups is the main inspiration in the creation of mixed media works. This creation aims to visualize the beauty of aesthetic experience that is manifested in the form of paintings, installations and video art. The method used in this creation is the Practice-Led Research method including the preparation stage, the imagination stage, the development stage and the realization of the work. The results of the creation of the work consist of 5 works, 3 paintings entitled Into The New World, Come n Get Illusion, Our System, an installation work entitled Destiny, a video art work entitled Follow Me. The work represents the formation of seagulls flying as a symbol of natural order and freedom in flying in groups. Through this mixed media work, the artist invites the audience to feel the visual experience by combining mixed media works as a single work. Through this creation, the artist gains a deep understanding of the importance of media exploration, concept processing, and the application of creative methods in the process of creating works. This creation also proves that the phenomenon of seagull formations when flying can be processed into works that not only have visual beauty, but also have symbolic meaning
