Profil Penalaran Proporsional Siswa SMA dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Matematika Berdasarkan Tipe Kepribadian
The Proportional Reasoning Profile of High School Students in Solving Mathematical Problems Based on Personality Types
Penalaran proporsional adalah penalaran terkait proporsi yang diperlukan pada berbagai aspek kehidupan dan mendukung konsep-konsep matematika, dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematika dasar dan lanjutan. Berdasarkan penelitian relevan penalaran proporsional berkaitan dengan tipe kepribadian. Selain itu, penelitian ini masih relatif baru dan perlu mendapat perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil penalaran proporsional siswa SMA dengan tipe kepribadian Idealist dan Guardian dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksploratif deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif pada studi kasus 2 (dua) subjek. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat teori tentang penalaran proporsional tipe kepribadian Idealist dan Guardian, perbedaan tipe kepribadian berpengaruh secara kualitatif terhadap penalaran proporsional. Dari temuan ini diharapkan siswa Idealist dan Guardian dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika khususnya penalaran proporsional perlu mengembangkan potensinya dengan lebih teliti, sehingga dapat memberi jawaban tepat dan alasan logis, memahami kovariasi, rasio, dan proporsi. Selain itu, dapat memberikan informasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk memadukan penalaran proporsional dan tipe kepribadian lainnya khususnya teori Keirsey, mempertimbangkan perbedaan jenis kelamin, serta tingkat kemampuan matematika.
Proportional reasoning involves reasoning related to the proportions required in various aspects of life and supports mathematical concepts, thereby improving both basic and advanced mathematical understanding. Based on relevant research, proportional reasoning is linked to specific personality types. Additionally, this research is still relatively new and deserves further attention. This study aims to describe the profile of proportional reasoning among high school students with Idealist and Guardian personality types when solving mathematical problems. This research is an exploratory descriptive study using a qualitative approach with two case subjects. Based on the research results, a theory exists regarding proportional reasoning in Idealist and Guardian personality types, suggesting that differences in personality types have a qualitative effect on proportional reasoning. From these findings, Idealist and Guardian students need to develop their potential in solving mathematical problems, especially in proportional reasoning, more carefully so that they can provide accurate answers and logical reasons, understand covariation, ratios, and proportions. Additionally, this study provides information for future research to integrate proportional reasoning with other personality types, particularly Keirsey's theory, while considering gender differences and mathematical ability levels.
