Analysis of Factors Affecting the Physical Condition of Extracurricular Karate Students During the Pancemic
The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the physical condition of extracurricular karate students at SMPN 20 Surabaya during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research used is a survey method using a quantitative approach. The sampling method in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Sampling was based on the characteristics already known and determined by the researcher, namely the students who were active in Karate extracurricular activities at SMPN 20 Surabaya as many as 20 students, consisting of 12 female students and 8 male students. The instrument used is in the form of a questionnaire or questionnaire distributed online via a google form. The indicators include several factors that affect physical condition including 1) exercise factor, 2) principle factor of training load, 3)rest factor, 4) healthy lifestyle factor, 5) environmental factor, and 6) food factor. The analysis technique in this study uses descriptive statistics in which the data that has been collected will be presented in the form of tables and percentage diagrams. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of online extracurricular learning causes the rest time needed for students to decrease, and the eating patterns and sleeping patterns of most students become irregular because they often sleep late at night to complete their assignments, on the other hand, some students have sleep difficulty commonly called insomnia, so it affects the physical condition of students. It can be concluded that the factors that affect the physical condition of extracurricular karate students at SMPN 20 Surabaya during the pandemic based on the results of the study are food factors and rest factors that can lead to a decrease in student achievement taking karate extracurriculars.
