SOSOK CHAIRIL ALWAN: PROSES KREATIF DAN TEKNIK MELUKISNYA DENGAN MEDIA POLITUR AIR

THE FIGURE OF CHAIRIL ALWAN: THE CREATIVE PROCESS AND PAINTING TECHNIQUES WITH WATER POLISH MEDIA

Chairil Alwan merupakan seorang guru seni rupa sekaligus seorang perupa terkenal di Kabupaten Sampang yang sangat produktif dalam berkarya. Dalam menciptakan karya seni lukisnya, Chairil Alwan menggunakan politur air yang berfokus dengan konsep perjuangan melawan hawa nafsu dan mengangkat tema religi dengan tujuan untuk memperkenalkan media lukis baru serta memberikan pemahaman seni terhadap masyarakat.

Sejak awal berkarya, Chairil Alwan masih menggunakan cat acrylic. Pada tahun 2015 media politur air ditemukannya pada saat melakukan dekorasi rumahnya dengan melukis dinding dan pondasinya menggunakan politur air. Melihat hasil yang sangat luar biasa, dengan spontan Chairil Alwan menyiapkan kanvas  dan langsung menggoreskan politur air tersebut. Banyak sekali hal yang belum terungkap terkait sosok Chairil Alwan, proses kreatif serta teknik dalam berkarya dengan menggunakan politur air

Fokus dalam penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Bagaimana sosok Chairil Alwan sebagai pelukis di Sampang Madura? (2) Bagaimana proses kreatif Chairil Alwan menemukan politur air sebagai media dalam karya seni lukisnya? (3) Bagaimana analisis teknik karya seni lukis Chairil Alwan dengan media politur air? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dalam bentuk deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan tersebut digunakan untuk mengungkap lebih dalam lagi mengenai sosok Charil Alwan di dunia seni lukis, proses kreatif dalam berkarya, serta teknik melukisnya dengan menggunakan politur air.

Dalam berkarya, media yang biasa digunakan yaitu kanvas, politur air merk Wood–Eco dan Woodstain serta kuas pada umumnya. Dari karya yang dihasilkan dengan menggunakan  politur air dapat disimpulkan bahwa seluruh lukisannya menggunakan teknik aquarel wet on dry yaitu menumpuk politur yang sudah kering dengan politur yang lebih gelap sehingga karya yang dihasilkan cenderung berwarna coklat karena pengaruh dari penggunaan politur air dengan goresan yang khas menyerupai serat.

Pegangan hidup, refrensi, serta pola pikir perupa sangat berpengaruh terhadap kreatifitasnya sehingga menjadi sebuah ciri khas dari setiap perupa. Dengan mengeksplorasi serta mencari bentuk–bentuk estetik yang menyatu pada penggunaan politur dalam  media lukis ini menjadi hal yang sangat luar biasa. Menurut Chairil Alwan, mengangkat konsep perjuangan melawan hawa nafsu dalam berkarya seni tidak akan pernah berakhir dan terus akan memunculkan ide–ide baru dalam berkarya.

Chairil Alwan is a fine art teacher and well-known artist in Sampang district who is very productive in his work. In creating his art, Chairil Alwan uses a water varnish that focuses on the concept of the struggle against lust and raised religious themes with the aim of introducing new painting media as well as providing an understanding of art to the society.

Since the beginning of his work, Chairil Alwan still uses acrylic paint. In 2015, he discovered water polish media while decorating his house by painting walls and its foundation using water polish. Seeing the extraordinary results, Chairil Alwan spontaneously prepared the canvas and immediately scratched the water polish. Lots of things have not been revealed related to the figure of Chairil Alwan, the creative process and techniques that Are used in creating works using water polishes

The focuses in this study are: (1) How is the figure of Chairil Alwan as a painter on Sampang Madura? (2) What is the creative process of Chairil Alwan finding for water polish as a media in his paintings? (3) How is the analysis technique of Chairil Alwan's paintings with water polish media? This study uses an qualitative approach in the form of qualitative descriptive. This approach is used to reveal deeper abaut Chairil Alwan figure in the world of painting, the creative process of work, and his painting techniques using water polishes.

In creating works, the media that are commonly used are canvas, Wood-Eco and Woodstain brand paints and ordinary brushes. From the work that is produced using water polishes it can be concluded that all of his paintings use a aquarel wet on dry technique which is to pling the dried polish with a slightly darker polish so the work that is produced tends to be brown due to the effect of the use of water polishes with typical scratches resembling fibers.

The handle of life, reference, and mindset of the artist are very influential on the creativity of the artist so that it becomes a characteristic of each artist. By exploring and looking for aesthetic forms which are integrated into the use of polish in this painting medium, it is a very extraordinary thing. According to Chairil Alwan, raising the concept of fighting against lust in the work of art will never end and will continue to bring up new ideas in the work.
