Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) dengan strategi Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) yang layak dan mampu melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi RPP, LKS, buku siswa dan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis pada materi optik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif meliputi empat tahap yaitu model pengembangan 4D (design, define, develop, dessiminate) diadaptasi menjadi Model 4P, yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah perangkat pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dengan Strategi Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) pada siswa SMP kelas VIII semester genap TA 2015/2016 materi Optika yang dikembangkan peneliti layak dipergunakan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dari respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran CTL dengan strategi POE mendapatkan hasil secara rata-rata sebanyak 82% artinya siswa merespon sangat positif. Kondisi tersebut dapat dijadikan pertimbangan dan acuan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran Contextual TeachingAnd Learning (CTL) dengan Strategi Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) pada siswa SMP kelas VIII semester genap TA 2015/2016 materi Optika Geometri yang dikembangkan peneliti layak dipergunakan untuk melatihkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
This study aims to produce a Contextual Teaching And Learning CTL learning instruments with a Predict Observe Explain POE strategy that is feasible and able to train students critical thinking skills, learning instruments developed include lesson plan worksheet and student books and critical thinking ability test instruments on optical material. This research is a quantitative descriptive study covering four stages namely the 4D development model design, define, develop, dessiminate. The conclusions of this study are learning Contextual Teaching and Learning CTL with Predict Observe Explain POE Strategies in class VIII junior high school students in even semester 2015 2016 Optics material developed by researchers is appropriate to be used to train students critical thinking skills. This is evidenced by the students response to CTL learning with the POE strategy getting an average yield of 82 percent, which means that students respond very positively. These conditions can be taken into consideration and reference to students critical thinking skills. So that it can be concluded that the learning tool Contextual Teaching Learning CTL with Predict Observe Explain POE strategies for class VIII junior high school students in even semester 2015 2016 Optics Geometry material developed by researchers is appropriate to be used to train students critical thinking skills
