Development of Learning Devices with The Case Based Learning (CBL) Model to
Train High School Students' Scientific Reasoning Skills. Proposal. Science

This study aims to produce learning tools for the Case
Based Learning (CBL) model that are feasible in terms of validity,
practicality, and effectiveness to train students' scientific reasoning skills.
This study uses the development of the four D (4D) model with the stages of
defining, planning, developing, and disseminating. The tools that have been
developed are then validated by three validators consisting of two lecturers at
the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Surabaya State University and
one teacher at the school. The implementation phase was carried out for class X
students at SMAN 2 Pare using the one group pretest-posttest design. Based on
the results of the research, it can be concluded that device learning using the
Case Based Learning (CBL) model developed is valid, practical, and effective
for improving the scientific reasoning skills of SMA Negeri 2 Pare students in
straight motion material. The learning device is stated to be very valid. In
addition, the device is said to be practical, in terms of the implementation of
the lesson plan in the very good category and the activities of the students at
the third meeting in the very good category, but there are several obstacles
during the learning process. Then the learning tools were said to be effective
in terms of scientific reasoning skills in classes X-5, X-6, and X-7 which
experienced an increase in the moderate category, as well as the average
response of students in the third class with the very good category. Based on
data analysis, it can be interpreted that the developed learning tools are
suitable for training students' training skills.
