Dari hasil obeservasi awal, peneliti menemukan fakta bahwa minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke Prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi di Perguruan Tinggi pada siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Waru tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh status sosial ekonomi orang tua dan prestasi belajar terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke prodi pendidikan ekonomi di perguruan tinggi.

     Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Waru pada Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 103 siswa. Pengumpulan data dengan metode angket, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni dengan metode Regresi Linear Berganda dengan menggunakan software SPSS.

     Dari hasil penelitian, variabel status sosial ekonomi orang tua berpengaruh terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi sebesar 6.278 dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.000. Sedangkan variabel prestasi belajar berpengaruh terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi sebesar 2.162 dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.033. Secara keseluruhan dua variabel bebas ini berpengaruh sebesar 31.1% terhadap variabel terikat dan sisanya sebesar 68,9% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak disebutkan dalam penelitian ini.

     From the results of pre-observations, the researchers found that the interest in continuing education to the Economic Education Department at Higher Education in students of XI IPS class in SMA Negeri 1 Waru was relatively low. This study aims to determine the effect of parents' socio-economic status and learning achievement on the interest in continuing education to the economic education department in college.

     The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Waru in the 2018/2019 Academic Year with a total sample of 103 students. Data collection using questionnaire, documentation, and interview methods. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Multiple Linear Regression method using SPSS software.

     From the results of the study, the socio-economic status of parents influences the interest in continuing to higher education at 6,278 with a significance level of 0,000. While the learning achievement influences the interest in continuing to higher education at 2,162 with a significance level of 0.033. Overall these two independent variables have an effect of 31.1% on the dependent variable and the remaining 68.9% is influenced by other variables not mentioned in this study.
