Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran POE terhadap Keterampilan Proses Sains pada Materi Suhu dan Kalor Siswa SD
Effectiveness of POE Learning Model on Science Process Skills in Temperature and Heat of Elementary Students
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan efektivitas model pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa SD pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa SD kelas V di SDN Kalirungkut I/264. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan penelitian non equivalent control group. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui teknik tes dan non tes (observasi). Berdasarkan tabel output hasil uji t, diperoleh nilai sig=0,000 sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan uji N-Gains score diperoleh skor pada kelompok eksperimen sebesar 58.12697% masuk kriteria cukup efektif. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan effect size pada siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol diketahui nilai effect size sebesar 1,131611 yang berarti bahwa pembelajaran dengan model POE pada materi suhu dan kalor memiliki pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran POE lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas V SDN Kalirungkut I/264 Kota Surabaya pada materi pengaruh kalor terhadap perubahan suhu dan wujud benda dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi supaya siswa dapat mengasah keterampilan proses sains dasar menggunakan model POE.
This research aims to explain the effectiveness of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on elementary students' science process skills on temperature and heat material. This research was conducted on fifth-grade students at SDN Kalirungkut I/264. This research method is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group research design. The data was collected through test and non-test (observation) techniques. Based on the output table of the t-test results, the sig value = 0.000 was obtained so that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Based on the N-Gains score test, the score in the experimental group was 58.12697%, which is quite effective. Based on the analysis using effect size on experimental and control class students, it is known that the effect size value is 1.131611, which means that learning with the POE model on temperature and heat material has a high influence on students' science process skills. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the POE learning model is more effective than conventional learning on the science process skills of fifth-grade students of SDN Kalirungkut I/264 Surabaya City on the material of the effect of heat on changes in temperature and form of objects in everyday life. This research contributes so that students can hone basic science process skills using the POE model.
