DAUN LIDAH BUAYA SEBAGAI IDE SENI PATUNG

ALOE VERA LEAF AS AN IDEA IN SCULPTURE

Lingkungan alam merupakan lingkungan yang terdiri benda mati dan makhluk hidup. Lingkungan terdapat banyak makhluk hidup yang bisa dijadikan sebagai sumber ide penciptaan, salah satunya yaitu daun lidah buaya. Lidah buaya (Aloe vera) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki ciri fisik daun berdaging tebal, sisi daun berduri, panjang mengecil pada ujungnya, berwarna hijau, dan daging daun berlendir. Bentuk daun menyerupai pedang berujung runcing dengan duri lemas dipinggirnya. Berawal dari penemuan ide ekplorasi bentuk dengan cara melakukan deformasi pada ketertarikan bentuk daun lidah buaya nantinya akan menampilkan bentuk-bentuk baru. Pengolahan bentuknya mencitrakan deformasi tanaman lidah buaya yang di maksudkan gabungan dua istilah, lidah yang diartikan kata-kata dan buaya artikan sebagai persepsi negatif atau jahat di masyarakat. Tujuan penciptaan karya ini yaitu menuangkan ide gagasan karya, sebagai ekspresi ungkapan penolakan perilaku negatif mencibir, dan memberi inspirasi. Sedangkan manfaat penciptaan karya ini mendorong dan mengembangkan kreatifitas, menjadi sumber referensi, dan memberi bentuk kesadaran. Penciptaan mengacu pada empat tahapan yaitu persiapan, mengimajinasi, pengembangan, dan perwujudan. Tahap-tahapan tersebuat sesuai dengan metode Practice-Led Research. Pada  proses penciptaan karya juga melalui dua observasi yaitu observasi partisipan dengan cara terlibat langsung dengan objek dan observasi non-partisipan dengan cara melalui jurnal, buku, media sosial, foto, katalog pameran serta karya seniman. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pembuatan karya ini yaitu teknik modeling dan casting sehingga menghasilkan 3 karya seni patung dengan judul karya satu “Tutur berduri ”, judul karya  kedua ”Tarian lidah beracun” dan judul karya ketiga “Dibalik kata berduri”.

The natural environment is composed of inanimate objects and living things. In the environment there are many living things that can be used as a source of creative ideas, one of which is the aloe vera leaf. Aloe vera (aloe vera) is a plant that has physical characteristics of thick fleshy leaves, spiny sides, long narrow at the ends, green in color, and slimy leaf flesh. The shape of the leaf resembles a sharp-tipped sword with limp thorns on the edge. Starting from the discovery of the idea of ​​exploring shapes by deforming the attractive shape of aloe vera leaves which will later display new forms. The management of the shape depicts the deformation of the aloe vera plant which is meant by a combination of two terms, tongue which means words and crocodile which is defined as a negative or evil perception in society. The purpose of creating this work is to express the ideas of the work, as an expression of rejection of negative behavior, sneer and provide inspiration. While the benefits of creating this work encourage and develop creativity, become a source of reference and provide a form of awareness. Creation refers to the four stages of preparation, imagination, development, and embodiment. These stages are in accordance with the practice-led research method. In the process of creating works also through two observations, namely participant observation by being directly involved with objects and non-participant observation by means of journals, books, social media, photos, exhibition catalogs and works of artists. The techniques used in making this work are modeling and casting techniques to produce 3 sculptural works with the title of one work "spoke of thorns", the title of the second work "dance of the poison tongue" and the title of the third work "behind the word thorns".
