PENGARUH KEGIATAN MELIPAT TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MOTORIK HALUS ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN
THE EFFECT OF PAPER FOLDING ACTIVITIES ON THE FINE MOTOR SKILLS OF CHILDREN AGED 5–6 YEARS
Kemampuan motorik halus merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini karena berhubungan dengan keterampilan menggerakkan otot-otot kecil, koordinasi antara mata dan tangan, serta kemandirian anak dalam melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari. Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat digunakan untuk menstimulasi kemampuan tersebut pada anak usia 5–6 tahun adalah kegiatan melipat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kegiatan melipat terhadap kemampuan motorik halus anak usia 5–6 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) melalui desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol yang dipilih tanpa pengacakan. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan berupa kegiatan melipat, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran seperti biasa tanpa perlakuan khusus. Data kemampuan motorik halus anak diperoleh melalui kegiatan observasi sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji independent samples t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan melipat berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan motorik halus anak usia 5–6 tahun. Dengan demikian, kegiatan melipat dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan motorik halus anak usia dini.
Fine motor skills are an essential aspect of early childhood development, as they are closely related to the ability to control small muscle movements, hand–eye coordination, and children’s independence in performing daily activities. One activity that can be used to stimulate fine motor skills in children aged 5–6 years is folding activities. This study aimed to examine the effect of folding activities on the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were divided into an experimental group and a control group without random assignment. The experimental group was given folding activities as a learning intervention, while the control group participated in regular learning activities without any specific treatment. Data on children’s fine motor skills were collected through observations conducted before and after the intervention and were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results of the analysis showed a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000, which is lower than the significance level of 0.05. These findings indicate that folding activities have a significant effect on the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years. Therefore, folding activities can be considered an effective alternative learning activity to support the development of fine motor skills in early childhood.
