Analysis Of Interrogative Sentences in the 2024 Presidential and Vice-Presidential Debates: A Syntactic Study
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis kalimat interogatif, struktur kalimat interogatif, dan fungsi kalimat interogatif yang terkandung dalam debat pertama calon presiden dan debat kedua calon wakil presiden Republik Indonesia tahun 2024. Kajian sintaksis dalam penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis struktur kalimat berupa kalimat simpleks dan kalimat kompleks. Digunakannya buku berjudul Tata Bahasa Baku Bahasa Indonesia Edisi Keempat sebagai acuan dalam menganalisis jenis kalimat interogatif serta struktur kalimat interogatif dengan penerapan metode penelitian kualitatif dibantu dengan teknik pengumpulan data dengan teknik dokumentasi, teknik simak, dan teknik catat. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan 6 (enam) jenis kalimat interogatif, yaitu kalimat interogatif terbuka, kalimat interogatif tertutup, kalimat interogatif retoris, kalimat interogatif total, kalimat interogatif parsial, dan kalimat interogatif embelan. Ditemukan pula jenis kalimat simpleks serta kalimat kompleks berupa kalimat subordinatif dan kalimat koordinatif. Adapun fungsi dari kalimat interogatif dalam debat adalah berfungsi untuk menegaskan, meminta pendapat, meminta keterangan, dan berfungsi untuk menguatkan. This research aims to analyze the types of interrogative sentences, the structure of interrogative sentences, and the functions of interrogative sentences contained in the first debate of presidential candidates and the second debate of vice presidential candidates of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024. The syntactic study in this research is aimed at analyzing the sentence structure in the form of simplex sentences and complex sentences. The book entitled Indonesian Standard Grammar, Fourth Edition is used as a reference in analyzing the types of interrogative sentences and the structure of interrogative sentences with the application of qualitative research methods assisted by data collection techniques using documentation techniques, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of this study found 6 (six) types of interrogative sentences, including open interrogative sentences, close interrogative sentences, rhetorical interrogative sentences, total interrogative sentences, partial interrogative sentences, and embellished interrogation sentences. There are also types of simplex sentences and complex sentences in the form of subordinative clauses and coordinative sentences, and nested sentences. The functions of interrogative sentences in debate are to emphasize, ask for opinions, ask for information, and to strengthen. Keywords: interrogative sentences, debate, syntax
