Character education is one of the most important lessons for child development. Character education is the study of character values that have components of knowledge, awareness or willingness, and action to apply these values to oneself, others, God, and the environment. The anthology Wacan Bocah Sithik Edhing by Zuly Kristanto is one of the special readings for children, wacan bocah also contains many lessons. This research will examine the character education in wacan bocah. To get the opinion of children, this research uses the theory of literary reception proposed by Wolfgang Iser. This research aims to 1) Describe character education, 2) describe the reception according to the reader's attitude, 3) describe the reception according to the reader's emotional strength when reading the anthology of wacan bocah basa jawa Sithik Eding by Zuly Kristanto. The method used is a qualitative method that clarifies statements with descriptions. The data sources used are the anthology of wacan bocah basa jawa Sihtik Edhing by Zuly Kristanto, questionnaire results, and interview results. The research instruments used are the researcher himself, a list of questions, a cellphone or recording device, paper, pen, questionnaire, and the most important document is the anthology of wacan bocah basa jawa Sihtik Edhing by Zuly Kristanto. The method of data collection is through interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The method of data analysis used is data compounding, data reduction, data simplification and data withdrawal. Based on the description above, the result of this study is the depiction of character education in the anthology of wacan bocah basa jawa Sihtik Edhing there are ten parts, namely 1) responsibility, 2) honesty, 3) religion, 4) confidence, 5) discipline, 6) hard work, 7) leadership spirit, 8) care, 9) intelligence, 10) curiosity. The recipient according to the reader's attitude becomes the attitude and behavior section, and the recipient according to the reader's emotional strength becomes the interest and emotion section.
