Enviromental Care Character Education at SMPN 26 Surabaya
Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan cara sekolah (SMPN 26 Surabaya) melakukan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan kepada siswa. Dengan berfokuskan kepada usaha sekolah menerapkan program pembiasaan kepedulian lingkungan serta mengatasi hambatan yang timbul sehingga terciptanya kebiasaan positif. Dengan asumsi bahwa proses belajar merupakan proses pembangunan pembiasaan perilaku seseorang datanya melalui pemikiran Skinner tentang pembiasaan anak sejak dini melalui stimulus serta penguatan yang diberikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan study kasus. Informan penelitian terdiri dari wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, penanggung jawab kantin, guru pembimbing, serta perwakilan siswa. Melalui informan data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi sekolah. Data yang telah didapat diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan cara Miles dan Huberman. Sesuai dengan hasil analisis ditemukan beberapa program sekolah tentang peduli lingkungan yaitu Mata pelajaran Lingkungan Hidup, Kantin Sehat, Lomba Kelas, dan ekstrakurikuler Tim Hijau. Program tersebut menjadi metode pembiasaan melalui stimulus di dalamnya dikuatkan oleh hadiah dan stimulus lanjutan. Dengan metode pelaksanaan pembiasaan program dilakukan secara berkelanjutan selama tiga tahun dari pertama siswa masuk hingga lulus. Pelaksanaan program menghasilkan kebiasaan peduli lingkungan pada siswa tercermin dari perilaku siswa. Sekaligus membuktikan bahwa stimulus dan penguatan dalam teori Skinner menjadi faktor pembentuk perilaku seseorang dalam proses belajar.

This study describes the way the school (SMPN 26 Surabaya) conducts environmental care character education to students. By focusing on school efforts, implementing environmental awareness habituation programs and overcoming obstacles that arise so as to create positive habits. Assuming that the learning process is a process of building habituation of one's behavior, the data is through Skinner's thoughts about habituation of children from an early age through the stimulus and reinforcement provided. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The research informants consisted of the vice principal of the curriculum field, the person in charge of the canteen, the supervising teacher, and student representatives. Through informants, data was collected using interview techniques and school documentation. The data that has been obtained is processed and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method. In accordance with the results of the analysis, it was found that several school programs concerning environmental care were found, namely Environmental Subjects, Healthy Canteens, Class Competitions, and Green Team extracurriculars. The program becomes a method of habituation through the stimulus in which it is strengthened by rewards and further stimuli. With the implementation method, the program habituation is carried out continuously for three years from the first time students enter until graduation. The implementation of the program produces habits of caring for the environment in students, which is reflected in the behavior of students. At the same time it proves that the stimulus and reinforcement in Skinner's theory is a factor in shaping one's behavior in the learning process.
