OF TOBACCO FARMING (NICOTIANAE TABACUM) TO HOUSEHOLD INCOME (TOBACCO FARMERS)
IN KETANDAN VILLAGE KECAMATAN LENGKONG NGANJUK DISTRICT

The results of the study can be
concluded that the income from tobacco farming per hectare has an average
income of Rp. 3,453,333.00 per month. . Income contribution from the results of
managing tobacco farming to total household income is 22.87%. That means that 22.87%
of total household income is obtained from tobacco farming. The income obtained
from tobacco farming is very profitable compared to non-tobacco agricultural
plants, so that most people fulfill their needs from tobacco farming.
This research was conducted by giving a
questionnaire containing questions to tobacco farmers to obtain answers needed
by researchers in managing data about managed income and farming. This type of
research is quantitative descriptive with a population of all tobacco farmers
who are members of 5 farming groups, totaling 294 farmers. Samples were taken
as many as 75 tobacco farmers, while data were obtained through observation,
interviews, and documentation which were then analyzed using descriptive and
quantitative data analysis with a single frequency table.
Ketandan Village, Lengkong
Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency is the area that has the highest area of land in
terms of harvest area and plantation production data in 2015. It has a
topography of 55.0 masl, type of regosol soil and rainfall of 1876.0 mm,
strongly supporting the community in cultivating tobacco farming. There are 2
types of tobacco that can be planted, namely casturi and cumin, in the
management of tobacco farmers incorporated in the farming group in
collaboration with the District Agricultural Extension Agency (BPPK). The
purpose of this study was to determine how much percentage (%) of income from
tobacco farming to other farms and the contribution of tobacco farming to the
total income of household tobacco farmers in Ketandan Village, Lengkong
District, Nganjuk Regency.
