Jombang is one of the areas that is
vulnerable to landslides, one of which is in Ngrimbi Village, Bareng District.
Relocation was once carried out by the Jombang Government but rsome people
refused to be relocated out of the village. The purpose of this study is to
determine the physical condition of the environment and geographical analysis
of the population who choose to live in areas prone to landslides.
The Type of this research is a
descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. This study used a sample of
89 residents. The technique of collecting data uses proportional sampling. Data
collection techniques using interview,
observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this research
is descriptive analysis to determine the physical environmental conditions of
landslide prone areas and to analyze the geographical condition of people who
choose live in landslide prone area by using chi square.
The results of this research showed
that the physical condition of landslide prone areas has a slope based on Van
Zuidam classification which is 5-15% with rather steep criteria, rainfall based
on puslit tanah classification which is 1.750-2.000 mm/years with criteria moderate
or humid, land use based on Karnawati classification is dominated by rain-fed paddy
fields that sensitive to erosion, and
the type of soil based on Sobirin classification is non cal soil that aren’t
sensitive to erosion. The results of chi square test to find out the reason for
staying in landslade prone area indicate that the length of stay is related to
employment opportunities (p=0.038)
and service levels (p=0.004), how to
obtain the buildings is related to accessibility (p=0.000), employment opportunities (p=0.000), and service levels (p=0.000),
while the status of the buildings is related to accessibility (p=0.002), employment opportunities (p=0.000), and service levels (p=0.002).
