THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENTIATE LEARNING BASED
ON LEARNING STYLES ON INCREASING STUDENTS' COGNITIVE ABILITY AT SMPN 45

Differentiated learning can be identified by
teaching and recognizing according to the talents and learning styles of
different students. The teacher makes it easier for students to be like the
position of students because each student has different behavior, therefore he
cannot give the same action. The differentiated approach consists of 3 aspects,
namely content, process and product differentiation 1). Content differentiation
includes what students have learned. This content can be related to curriculum
and learning materials, 2). Process differentiation is a way for students to
process ideas and information. How students can interact with the material and
how to be the material that has been determined. 3). Product differentiation is
how students can show what they have learned. Products from learning can enable
teachers to assess material that has been mastered by students or students who
provide the following material
The
approach to this research is quantitative, using the Nonequivalent
Pretest-Postest Control Group Design quasi-experimental method. The population
of this study were students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 45 Suarabaya. The sampling
technique used purposive sampling and obtained class VIII-E as the experimental
group and class VIII-F as the control group. The research instrument used was a
sheet of test questions, and for learning instruments using lesson plans and
teaching modules. This study uses tests in the form of questionnaires and
documentation as data collection when conducting research. Hypothesis testing
uses the prerequisite test, namely the normality test and homogeneity test, as
well as the t test using the paired sample t-test and the independent sample
t-test.
The
results of the study entitled Effects of Differentiated Learning Based on
Learning Styles on Increasing Cognitive Ability of Students at SMPN 45 Surabaya
In Social Studies Subjects researchers were able to conduct research in class
VIII which was carried out well and smoothly.
