Sign System And Wayfinding Design At Aceh Tsunami Museum

Salah satu tempat wisata yang menjadi simbol kota Banda Aceh ialah Museum Tsunami Aceh. Museum Tsunami Aceh ini terletak di Kecamatan Baiturrahman Kota Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Peneliti menemukan kendala pada sign system di Museum Tsunami Aceh, beberapa informasi dan petunjuk arah bermaterial stiker serta ditempel pada bagian tertentu dan sudah terlihat usang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang sign system yang memiliki fungsi memberikan informasi berupa direction, menavigasi, larangan dan himbauan kepada pengunjung untuk mengatur ketertiban dalam museum. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan design thinking menurut Kelley dan Brown sebagai proses desainnya. Dengan mengumpulkan data-data primer penelitian yang dilakukan berupa observasi, wawancara, kuisioner dan dokumentasi. Sementara untuk data sekunder dilakukan studi literatur untuk mengumpulkan referensi teori yang relevan terkait perancangan. Perancangan ini menghasilkan desain sign system yang akan ditempatkan pada bagian interior bangunan yang menerapkan visualisasi clean design.

One of the tourist attractions that has become a symbol of the city of Banda Aceh is the Aceh Tsunami Museum. The Aceh Tsunami Museum is located in Baiturrahman District, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Researchers found a problems with the sign system at the Aceh Tsunami Museum, some information and directions are made of stickers material and affixed to certain parts and already look outdated. The research entitled the design of the sign system and wayfinding at the Aceh Tsunami Museum aims to provide information in the form of direction, navigating, prohibitions and appeals to visitors to regulate order in the museum. To answer this problem, this reseacrh uses qualitative methods with design thinking according to Kelley and Brown as the design process. By collectinf primary data research conducted in the form of observations, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Meanwhile, for secondary data, a literatur study is carried out to collect relevant theoretical references related to design. This design produces a sign system design that will be placed on the interior of the building that applies a clean design visualization.
