The Effect of The PQ4R Method On The Reading Comprehension Ability of Deaf Students at SDLB - B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh Metode PQ4R terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa tunarungu. Pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan jenis Pre Experimental One Group Pre Test – Post Test. Subjek penelitian siswa SDLB B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya dengan sampel kelas 3 dan 4, berjumlah 8 orang siswa dengan tunarungu. Variabel bebas penelitian metode PQ4R dan variabel terikatnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan test, yaitu Pre Test dan Post Test.. Data hasil penelitian dihitung dan analisis dengan uji Wilcoxon Match Pair Test. Analisis data menggunakan statistik nonparametrik didapatkan hasil nilai Zhitung 2,52 lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan Ztabel 1,96 dengan nilai kritis 5%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Metode PQ4R terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa tunarungu kelas 3 dan 4 di SDLB B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya.

This study aims to describe the effect of the PQ4R Method on the reading comprehension ability of deaf students. A quantitative research approach was used in this study, with the type of Pre Experimental One Group Pre Test – Post Test. The Research subjects were students of SDLB B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya with a sample of grades 3 and 4, totaling 8 students with hearing impairment. The independent variable is the PQ4R Method and the dependent variable is reading comprehension ability. Data was collected by means of test, namely Pre Test and Post Test. The data from research were calculated and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Match Pair Test. Data analysis using nonparametric statistics showed that Zcount value was 2,52 greater than Ztable 1,96 with a critical value of 5%. Based on the result of the analysis of research data, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the PQ4R Method on the reading comprehension ability of deaf students in grades 3 and 4 at SDLB B Karya Mulia 1 Surabaya.
