PENYELENGGARAAN PROGRAM CAREER DAYS DI SMA NEGERI KABUPATEN SIDOARJO
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CAREER DAYS PROGRAM AT PUBLIC SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SIDOARJO
Bimbingan karier adalah suatu proses bantuan, layanan serta pendekatan terhadap individu agar dapat mengenal dan memahami dirinya sendiri, mengenal dunia kerja, merencanakan masa depan yang sesuai dengan bentuk rencana kehidupan yang diharapkannya. Layanan bimbingan karier dapat dilaksanakan salah satunya adalah hari karier atau career days. Pada hari tersebut semua kegiatan bimbingan karier dilaksanakan berdasarkan program bimbingan karier yang telah ditetapkan oleh sekolah untuk tiap tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana penyelenggaraan program career days di SMA Negeri Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu 450 peserta didik kelas XII dari 9 SMA Negeri (SMAN 1 Sidoarjo, SMAN 3 Sidoarjo, SMAN 4 Sidoarjo, SMAN 1 Gedangan, SMAN 1 Taman, SMAN 1 Wonoayu, SMAN 1 Krian, SMAN 1 Krembung dan SMAN 1 Tarik) yang ada di Kabupaten Sidoarjo dan 9 Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuesioner atau angket. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pada angket penyelenggaraan career days untuk Guru BK sebanyak 89% Guru BK melaksanakan asesmen kebutuhan, kegiatan yang diselenggarakan mendapat dukungan dari kepala dan komite sekolah, kegiatan career days sesuai dengan visi misi sekolah dan 67% Guru BK membuat proposal kegiatan career days. 44% bentuk kegiatan career days yang paling banyak diminati adalah expo campus diikuti oleh perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta. 78% peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan career days adalah siswa kelas XII Ipa, Ips dan Bahasa. 100% berpartisipasi aktif dan dapat memenuhi rasa keingintahuan siswa tentang dunia karier. Hambatan-hambatan yang terjadi pasa saat career days bisa diatasi oleh Guru BK dengan strategi dari masing-masing Guru BK. Sebanyak 78% Guru Bk melaksanakan evaluasi pelaksanaan career days. Kemudian hasil angket penyelenggaraan career days peserta didik menghasilkan 54% siswa memahami dengan baik tujuan diselenggarakan kegiatan career days (Expo campus, kunjungan kampus, informasi perguruan tinggi dan pekerjaan), 50% siswa paham dengan baik tujuan dan manfaat diselenggarakannya career days. 49% siswa merasa senang dan antusias untuk mengikuti kegiatan career days yang diadakan oleh sekolah. 53% siswa berpendapat bahwa kegiatan yang diselenggarakan sangat menarik dan 42% cukup berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan (bertanya dan berdiskusi). Sebanyak 45% siswa memperoleh informasi dengan baik dalam kegiatan career days. 49% siswa mendapatkan pengetahuan baru dan informasi dengan baik apa yang disampaikan dalam kegiatan career days. 53% siswa menyadari pentingnya sebuah informasi karier untuk menunjang cita-citanya dimasa depan dengan sangat baik, 49% merangkum dengan baik peluang-peluang jenis pekerjaan dan perguruan tinggi yang sesuai dengan jurusan ketika di SMA. Kemudian 57% siswa mampu merencanakan kerier dengan baik setelah mengikuti kegiatan career days. 54% siswa berpendapat bahwa kegiatan career days ini mampu membuat siswa memiliki pandangan dengan baik terhadap pemilihan kariernya setelah lulus sekolah. 51% siswa mulai mencari tahu bakat dan minat yang ada pada dirinya dengan baik untuk dikembangkan dan 54% sudah mampu mengambil keputusan karier dengan baik setelah mendapatkan informasi seputar studi lanjuta maupun dunia pekerjaan yang sesuai dengan potensi yang telah dimiliki.

Career guidance is process of assistance, service and approach towards individuals to embrace them selves, know work field, and plan their future as they wished. Career guidance can be held on various activities, and one of them is career days. On career days, all career guidance activities were held based on the career guidance program which has been set by school annually. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of career days program at public senior high schools in Sidoarjo. This study used survey for collecting data. The participants of this study were 450 12th grade students from 9 public senior high schools (SMAN 1 Sidoarjo, SMAN 3 Sidoarjo, SMAN 4 Sidoarjo, SMAN 1 Gedangan, SMAN 1 Taman, SMAN 1 Wonoayu, SMAN 1 Krian, SMAN 1 Krembung and SMAN 1 Tarik) and 9 Guidance and Counseling teachers located in Sidoarjo. This study collected the data by using questionnaire technique. The result of Guidance and Counseling teacher’s questionnaire of career days program showed that 89% Guidance and Counseling teachers held need assessment, the activity that was done for getting support from principal and school committee, career days fit with school’s vision and mission and 67% Guidance and Counseling teachers made career days proposal. 44% showed that the most interesting career days activity was campus expo which was followed by public and privateuniversities. 78% participants who participated in career days was 12th grade of science, social, and language students. 100% students actively participated and fulfilled their curiosity of work field. Challenges that happened at career days could be handled by Guidance and Counseling teachers with their strategy. 78% Guidance and Counseling teachers did evaluation of career days program. After that, the result of career days questionnaire for students showed that 54% students understood well about the purpose of career days programs (Campus Expo, Campus Visit, and Socialization of university and work field), 50% students understood the purpose and benefit of career days program well. 49% students showed that they felt happy and enthusiastic to participate in career days program held by school. 53% students stated that the program was very interesting and 42% students were quite active in participating the program (asking and discussing). In addition, 45% students got beneficial information from career days program. 49% students earned new knowledge and information that were given from the program well. 53% students realized how important the information of career to guide their dreams in the future properly, and 49% students summarized the opportunity of careers and university which match with their major in senior high school. Then, 57% students were able to plan their future career after participating in career days program. 54% students claimed that the career days activity could help them to have insight of career choices after they graduated. 51% students looked for their skill and interest to develop and 54% were already able to decide their career after collecting the information about higher study or work field which matches with their potential.
