PLASTIK KANVAS SEBAGAI MEDIA PENERAPAN TEKNIK SULAM MENGGUNAKAN BENANG BLUDRU DI SMA KHADIJAH SURABAYA
PLASTIC CANVAS AS A MEDIUM FOR APPLYING EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUES USING VELVET YARN AT KHADIJAH HIGH SCHOOL IN SURABAYA
Pembelajaran seni budaya di kelas sepuluh SMA Khadijah sering menerapkan teknik berkarya seni menggambar di atas kertas gambar saja, sehingga peneliti ingin memberikan pengalaman berkarya yang baru dengan mempelajari praktek berkarya tentang sulaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran berkarya sulam, hasil karya, dan respon peserta didik setelah melakukan proses berkarya teknik sulam pada media plastik kanvas dan benang bludru.
Pendekatan kualitatif menjadi pendekatan yang digunakan dari penelitian ini. Penelitian kualitatif berfokus pada pengambilan data melalui observasi sebelum melakukan penelitian di SMA Khadijah, mewawancarai guru seni budaya, mengumpulkan dokumentasi penelitian, serta pengisian kuisioner (angket) oleh peserta didik X5.
Peneliti melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan tiga pertemuan tatap muka. Hasil karya peserta didik diidentifikasi sudah sesuai dengan konsep peneliti. Penggunaan lafadz kaligrafi asmaul husna khat khufi yang menjadi motif dari karya dua dimensi. Terdapat 6 karya dengan penggunaan khat yang berbeda-beda. 4 kelompok yang memperoleh kriteria penilaian baik dengan memperoleh nilai 88, 83, 89, dan 83, sedangkan 2 kelompok diantaranya memperoleh kriteria penilaian sangat baik dengan memperoleh nilai 95 dan 93.
Respon peserta didik setelah melakukan proses berkarya sulam telah dikumpulkan dalam bentuk data diagram melalui angket yang telah diberikan peneliti pada peserta didik. Komposisi penggambaran lafadz pada plastik kanvas dan bulu-bulu benang yang sering rontok menjadi kendala yang mereka alami. Karakteristik plastik kanvas yang memiliki rongga setiap lubangnya hanya ada beberapa jenis tusukan sulam yang sesuai untuk diterapkan. Sehingga siswa terbatas dalam menerapkan variasi tusukan sulam lainnya.

Cultural arts learning in tenth grade of Khadijah High School often applies drawing techniques on drawing paper only, so the researcher wanted to provide a new creative experience by learning the practice of experience by learning the practice of embroidery. The qualitative is the approach used in this research. Qualitative research focuses on collecting data through observation before conducting research at SMA Khadijah, interviewing cultural arts teachers, collecting research documentation, and filling out questionnaires by X5 students.
Researchers conducted learning activities with three face-to-face meetings. The results of the students' work were identified as in accordance with the researcher's concept. The use of calligraphy asmaul husna khat khufi which became the motif of two-dimensional works. There are 6 works with different khat usage. 4 groups obtained good assessment criteria by obtaining scores of 88, 83, 89, and 83, while 2 groups obtained very good assessment criteria by obtaining scores of 95 and 93.
Students' responses after doing the embroidery process have been collected in the form of diagrammatic data through questionnaires that have been given by researchers to students. The composition of the depiction of the recitation on the plastic canvas and the feathers of the thread that often fall out are the obstacles they experience. The characteristics of plastic canvas that has a cavity in each hole are only a few types of embroidery stitches that are suitable to be applied. So students are limited in applying other variations of embroidery stitches.
