Penelitian Pengembangan desain motif ukir rebana di Desa Bungah dilatar belakangi oleh krisis identitas Desa Bungah sebagai salah satu sentra produsen rebana, tidak ada motif ukir khas Kabupaten Gresik yang bisa diterapkan pada rebana, dan kurang diberdayakannya sumber daya manusia dengan keahlian mengukir dan membubut kayu. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) Untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana moif ukir rebana di Desa Bungah (2) Untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses pengembangan motif ukir rebana di Desa Bungah dengan sumber ide ikon Kabupaten Gresik (3) Bagaimana kualitas hasil penerapan pengembangan motif ukir pada rebana di Desa Bungah. Pengembangan motif ukir rebana di Desa Bungah berpedoman pada model pengembangan Borg & Gall. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan validasi desain. Hasil penelitian pengembanganberupa motif ukir dengan sumber ide ikon Kabupaten Gresik yang diterapkan pada satu set rebana habsyi yang terdiri dari rebana bass, rebana hadroh, keprak dan tam. Desain motif ukir rebana dengan sumber ide ikon Kabupaten Gresik ini divalidasi oleh seorang ahli desain dan 4 orang praktisi dibidang rebana. Berdasarkan hasil validasi desain oleh seluruh validator motif ukir rebana memperoleh skor rata-rata 4,79 dengan persentase 95%, yang berarti desain motif ukir masuk dalam kategori sangat baik dan layak untuk diterapkan pada rebana.

Research and development of the tambourine carving pattern in Bungah village was motivated by the identity crisis of Bungah village as a center of tambourine producers, there is no typical carving pattern of Gresik that can be applied to the tambourine, lack of empowerment of human resources with expertise in carving and shaping the wood. The purposes of the study are (1) To describe how the tambourine carving patterns in Bungah Village (2) To describe how the process of developing tambourine carving patterns in Bungah Village with the source of the Gresik Regency’s icon idea (3) How is the quality of the results of implementing the development of carving patterns on tambourines in the Bungah Village. The development of the tambourine carving pattern in Bungah village is based on the development model of Borg & Gall. Data collection in this study was carried out by observation, interviews, documentation dan design validation. The results of this development research are in the form of carving patterns with the source of the Gresik Regency incon idea which is applied to a set of habsyi tambourine consisting of bass, hadroh, keprak and tam. The design of the tambourine carving patterns with the source of the Gresik Regency icon have been validated by a design expert and 4 practitioners in the field of tambourine. Based on the results of design validation by all validators of tambourine carving patterns, an average score of 4.79 with a percentage of 95% means that the carving patterns design is in the very good category and is recommended to be applied to tambourines.
