Application of Problem Based Learning Model Assisted by BOARD on Rotational Dynamics Material to Improve Critical Thinking Skills of High School Students
Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan model PBL dengan berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, (2) mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan model PBL berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D), (3) mendeskripsikan respons peserta didik setelah dilakukan penerapan model PBL dengan berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode true experimental dengan randomized subject control-group pre-test and post-test design. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak empat kelas XI MIPA SMA, dengan sampel sebanyak 140 peserta didik. Hasil analisis keterlaksanaan model PBL berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D) berhasil dilaksanakan dengan kategori sangat baik. Diperoleh nilai observasi keterlaksanaan peserta didik pada keterampilan berpikir kritis pada kategori sangat baik dibandingkan dengan model PBL berbantuan power point yang memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis pada kategori baik dan kelas dengan model konvensional memiliki kategori keterampilan berpikir kritis cukup. Perbedaan nilai pre-test dan post-test pada setiap kelas penelitian. Perbedaan nilai berupa peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan tingkat kenaikan pada kategori tinggi dengan nilai efek kuat untuk kelas dengan penerapan model PBL berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D). Sedangkan pada kelas dengan model PBL berbantuan power point pada kategori sedang dan pada kelas dengan model konvensional kenaikan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada kategori rendah. Penerapan model PBL berbantuan BOARD (Book Android 3D) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mendapatkan respons baik dari peserta didik, sehingga dapat dijadikan inovasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Saran bagi peneliti selanjutnya berdasarkan batasan masalah adalah dapat melakukan penelitian di sekolah lain ataupun pada jenjang yang lain sehingga dapat mengkomparasi hasil peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis, dapat menerapkan atau mengembangkan dengan keterbaruan pada materi fisika lainnya untuk mengukur variabel keterampilan lain.
This study was conducted to (1) describe the implementation of the PBL model with the help of BOARD (Book Android 3D) to improve students' critical thinking skills, (2) describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills with the PBL model with the help of BOARD (Book Android 3D), (3) describe the students' responses after the implementation of the PBL model with the help of BOARD (Book Android 3D) to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study used a true experimental method with a randomized subject control-group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this study were four classes of XI MIPA SMA, with a sample of 140 students. The results of the analysis of the implementation of the PBL model assisted by BOARD (Book Android 3D) were successfully implemented with a very good category. Obtained the observation value of the implementation of students on critical thinking skills in the very good category compared to the PBL model assisted by power point which has critical thinking skills in the good category and classes with conventional models have sufficient critical thinking skills category. Differences in pre-test and post-test scores in each research class. The difference in value is in the form of an increase in critical thinking skills with a level of increase in the high category with a strong effect value for classes with the application of the PBL model assisted by BOARD (Book Android 3D). While in classes with PBL models assisted by power point in the medium category and in classes with conventional models the increase in critical thinking skills in the low category. The application of the PBL model assisted by BOARD (Book Android 3D) to improve critical thinking skills gets a good response from students, so it can be used as an innovation in learning activities. Suggestions for future researchers based on the limitations of the problem are to conduct research in other schools or at other levels so that they can compare the results of improving critical thinking skills, can apply or develop with novelty in other physics materials to measure other skill variables.
