The Impact Between Work Environtment, Competence, and Career Development on Employee Performance at BTN Denpasar Branch.
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peningkatan kinerja karyawan di sektor perbankan, khususnya di BTN Kantor Cabang Denpasar. Kinerja pegawai tidak terlepas dari pengaruh lingkungan kerja, kompetensi, dan pengembangan karir yang terintegrasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung antara variabel-variabel tersebut terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain explanatory research. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner tertutup berbasis skala Likert, dari 80 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Instrumen telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modeling berbasis Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS 4.0.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa lingkungan kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kompetensi dan pengembangan karir, namun tidak berpengaruh langsung terhadap kinerja. Kompetensi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pengembangan karir, tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja. Sementara itu, pengembangan karir berpengaruh sangat signifikan terhadap kinerja. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan karir menjadi faktor utama yang memediasi hubungan antara lingkungan kerja dan kompetensi terhadap peningkatan kinerja karyawan. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kinerja karyawan lebih efektif dicapai melalui pengembangan karir yang ditopang oleh kompetensi yang kuat dan lingkungan kerja yang mendukung. Implikasinya, organisasi perlu menekankan pada integrasi pengembangan SDM yang berfokus pada penciptaan jalur karir yang jelas dan berkelanjutan.

This study was motivated by the critical need to improve employee performance in the banking sector, particularly at the BTN Denpasar Branch. Employee performance is influenced by the integrated effects of the work environment, competence, and career development. The purpose of this study is to analyze both the direct and indirect effects of these variables on employee performance. A quantitative approach was employed using an explanatory research design. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire from 80 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0 software.
The findings reveal that the work environment significantly affects competence and career development, but has no direct effect on performance. Competence significantly influences career development, yet its direct effect on performance is not significant. Meanwhile, career development has a strong and significant impact on performance. These results suggest that career development plays a pivotal mediating role between work environment, competence, and employee performance.
The findings underscore that employee performance improvement is more effectively achieved through career development, which is supported by strong competence and a conducive work environment. Consequently, organizations should prioritize integrated human resource development strategies that emphasize the establishment of clear and sustainable career pathways.
